what is the difference between the viola and the violin. It thought the viola stood and wasn't leaned on the neck, but both are beautiful anyways. Just like the cellos.

A viola is bigger than a violin. It has the strings A,D,G,and C which a violin does not have. A viola also has a deeper tone, resonance, you name it than the violin in general. Also, unlike violin, the viola doesn't have a set "adult size" like the violin does. For a viola to play to it's full capacity, it would have to be at 21' for it's C string to fully ring out. That's why they make violas to smaller sizes like 15', 16', and sometimes 17.' Enjoy both instruments now that you know about them!
