hi. its not uninteresting peshkar. Its called banarasi tekha from the banaras gharana stlye of playing. Its an introduction before they clever;y building it up and turn it into whatever kaida they like. If one listens (even without tabla knowledge) it is possible to hear that they are performing variations slowly transforming the banarasi kaida up to what will become the kaida. One must be imaginative and creative to play this well.

This peshkar is the same old peshkar that everybody plays, I appreciate you have no Tabla knowledge, but i do, so i am just letting you know that to me its boring considering the other stuff that can be accomplished on Tabla. Just a personal opinion.
Oh dear another STUDENT if your'e even that. Giving it large Oh by the way WHERE ARE YOUR SOLOS ON HERE ! Thought so, you cant play so to put it politely Zip it until you can Go & kiss your masters ass cos i dont give a xxxx
You were rude and , EXACTLY, I call it Peshkar, Theka is for accompaniment,There are no set rules, its just drumming & you either have something or dont, you can call it what you like & the clip to me, is still BORING, thats my opinion & dont forget to post yourself playing Tabla, Oh i forgot You cant ---y
By the way which ? benares Gharana or do you think theres only 1 Of course Shamta Prasad is the business when it comes to Benares The proof is in the listening & what you may call theka is very different to some other students , I call it Peshkar or is it your way (Sahais) or no way, I'm all ears
Wonderful to see Sharda again after Dartington days. Sanju too. Always a great inspiration.
