As many of you oldtimers know, the TV clock doesn't always match. This is especially true in basketball when tenths of seconds matter. YES, he stepped out of bounds. But it's doubtful the snap was as late as the TV clock suggests.
It was even more noticable at a recent Titans-Ravens playoff game, where the play clock was 0 for a FULL second before the ball was snaped, yet there was no flag thrown.

That clock in the little TV score box is not the official clock. They don't have a video camera watching the real play clock and then "paste" it into the box anymore. It's some spazz that just pushed the button a little too early.

Oregon suffered from two bad calls earlier in the game, the fumble that would've given them the ball deep in Oklahoma territory and the expired play clock (non-reviewable).

blown calls are blown calls and some are debatable because theres no clear definition, but the ones that were reviewed and not reversed were cleary botched. truth is, OU still went to the fiesta bowl despite people thinking that they sucked, and played a HELL of a game against boise st rather than getting "fucked up". I am biased, that's true. I'm an OU student, but I like to believe that I'm fairly objective... and I remember seeing replays of that fumble, and thinking they got the call right. I haven't ever seen a "bit by bit" breakdown of it in excessivly slow motion...
Neither of these calls were close-I JUST watched a rebroadcast. deff conclusive replays: Not a fumble-A terrible non overturn, as was the onside kick. THIS play was not close either-almost a full second late; that kinda thing should be caught immediately. Another one was kinda bad and came on a long TD pass, but I'm willing to let that go.
The refs should be fired and the onside kick was really bad, but we got other ones that aren't taken seriously because they werent late in the 4th
CORRECTION: The "delay of game" actually came on the drive after "the fumble" so it's only 1 ou TD, sorry. Still 2 terrible calls that preceded a TD, and then there's another delay no-call that I am willing to let go, but was AT LEAST the same caliber as the questionable OU P.I./tipped ball call.
And, the refs didn't "give" OU any points. The "late snap" is EXTREMELY close (on third down) the added five yards, well, there's just no excuse for that, but OU STILL had a first down... and the "pass interference" looked weak and isn't near the same as giving the opposing team possesion when they clearly Don't have it.
And the refs didn't "give" oregon any points-the (very bad, yes) call preceded an Oregon TD, just as not overturning the fumble, and just completely missing the delay of game preceded 2 OU TD's.
The play clock expired, the non fumble by stewart, the push off every call went to OU and yes some resulted in to points, so if those calls did not happen the the ducks would have won by 14.would never kicked the onside kick and this debate would have never happened. The officiating was bad. The better team won so all you sooner fans quit saying you got screwed and just be glad the score was that close thanks to the refs. Later in the game the clock on TV appeared to stop for a good 5 minutes. Clearly what was shown on TV (or this video) is not what was going on on the field. Stewart clearly fumbled. You need to get yourself a replay of that. The push off was a judgement call. I don't see how you can even compare these to the way OU was obviously screwed. I don't think the refs kept us in the game at all.. our defense kept us in the game by forcing several turnovers. The better team did not win.

If Oregon was the better team they would have won easily without having to resort to an amazing comeback with the help of the refs. blown calls are blown calls and some are debatable because theres no clear definition, but the ones that were reviewed and not reversed were cleary botched. truth is, OU still went to the fiesta bowl despite people thinking that they sucked, and played a HELL of a game against boise st rather than getting "fucked up". OU had a better season, regardless of who got the W in this game. ill stand by my team for overcoming everything that happened that year. go sooners!

Oh well, so We "lost" to Oregon on a crappy as hell call... When we take care of Nebraska, hello BCS... It is disappointing seeing all the "Who should play OSU in the NC game" and not getting to see OU up there, but, considering the crap that We've gone through this year, a BCS game opportunity is pretty damn amazing... Oh and to whoever said "You'd finish in 4th place in the Pac 10", maybe USC'd beat us, but who else? And don't say Oregon.

I am biased, that's true. I'm an OU student, but I like to believe that I'm fairly objective... and I remember seeing replays of that fumble, and thinking they got the call right. I haven't ever seen a "bit by bit" breakdown of it in excessivly slow motion...

Neither of these calls were close-I JUST watched a rebroadcast. deff conclusive replays: Not a fumble-A terrible non overturn, as was the onside kick. THIS play was not close either-almost a full second late; that kinda thing should be caught immediately. Another one was kinda bad and came on a long TD pass, but I'm willing to let that go.
The refs should be fired and the onside kick was really bad, but we got other ones that aren't taken seriously because they werent late in the 4th

CORRECTION: The "delay of game" actually came on the drive after "the fumble" so it's only 1 ou TD, sorry. Still 2 terrible calls that preceded a TD, and then there's another delay no-call that I am willing to let go, but was AT LEAST the same caliber as the questionable OU P.I./tipped ball call.

And, the refs didn't "give" OU any points. The "late snap" is EXTREMELY close (on third down) the added five yards, well, there's just no excuse for that, but OU STILL had a first down... and the "pass interference" looked weak and isn't near the same as giving the opposing team possesion when they clearly Don't have it.

The play clock expired, the non fumble by stewart, the push off every call went to OU and yes some resulted in to points, so if those calls did not happen the the ducks would have won by 14.would never kicked the onside kick and this debate would have never happened. The officiating was bad. The better team won so all you sooner fans quit saying you got screwed and just be glad the score was that close thanks to the refs. You guys should thank the refs for the score being so close.

Later in the game the clock on TV appeared to stop for a good 5 minutes. Clearly what was shown on TV (or this video) is not what was going on on the field. Stewart clearly fumbled. You need to get yourself a replay of that. The push off was a judgement call. I don't see how you can even compare these to the way OU was obviously screwed. I don't think the refs kept us in the game at all.. our defense kept us in the game by forcing several turnovers. The better team did not win.

If Oregon was the better team they would have won easily without having to resort to an amazing comeback with the help of the refs. You contradict yourself by saying that our defense kept oregon in the game and then saying that the turnovers (which are a result of defense..) kept OU in the game. The whole nation has seen the onside kick, and it's almost unanimous that OU deserved that win.

Turnovers are part of the game.. you act like we should just ignore those. You say OU is so bad, yet it took several terrible calls at home for you to beat us. How bad is UO then?
Also, you seem to be highly overrating yards. Yards don't matter nearly as much as getting points on the board. UO could've had 3000 yards, but if it still takes a crappy call to win, I would say they're not better than OU

The play clock may well have expired, but you can't use the ABC clock to make that statement. Their clock is in no way connected to the real clock.
Anyway, there's no question the officials sucked throughout. But don't tell me a blown call in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd quarter had anywhere near the impact of that onside kick call. There was no time to recover from a mistake that big and that late.

That's stupid. If Oregon's d-backs covered, then you couldn't complain about the spot on that play. Lots of ifs and buts. Fact remains the refs cheated in giving the ball to Oregon. That's blatantly different than "blowing a call." THEY DID NOT MISJUDGE POSSESSION ON THE ONSIDE KICK. THEY CHEATED. THEY LIED. AT BEST, THEY GUESSED. because they were digging through a pile that had nothing to do with the ball's whereabouts and signaled Oregon ball.

wow, this never happens in games. what the refs did at the END of the game is indefensible. so, whatever. OU's been screwed twice in last 4 games from bad replay ref calls at the last seconds of the game (txtech). so, unless they change the rules to not allow hometown homers do the replays, it will come back to u ducks & bite u too. good luck with that.
