  • If conscience is an aptitude, faculty, intuition, or judgment of the intellect that distinguishes right from wrong, I would say that liberals have no conscience because they do not respect individual freedom. They make random judgments and support capricious law. They openly profess to hate the rich yet they are often rich. They fully support the lottery - an immoral system where the government is the house, preying on its citizens, and occasional make a super-rich person in the process. LOL

  • @thegeneraltheory In poor countries and rural America, families require children to work. In Kansas today, farmers’ children work on the family businesses. In Vietnam, Ethiopia, Haiti and etc., families face starvation and make an economic decision for children contribute to family finances. Would you allow starvation by outlawing child labor? Kids can gain skills, move up for better jobs later, and leave poverty. Why are you afraid of freedom?

Do you trust Government more than families?

  • @thegeneraltheory How condescending are you to think so lowly of Humanity, that people from the wealthiest nation would force their children into slavery if it were not for government intervention?

Your belief that humanity is so wretched only reflects on your inner wretchedness. Without Government tyranny, I would not have forced my children into slavery, and I know 99.99% of Americans would not have either. But you?!

  • Study finds Paul Krugman is the most partisan economist. Krugman was the only economist to "significantly" change his stances for partisan reasons. Krugman has even gone so far as to contradict his own findings to bash Republican politicians. - Brett Barkley, Econ Journal Watch, May 2010

  • @islandmuffin All economists are biased... The fact remains for the past 30 years tirckle down economics, lower taxes for the rich, deregulation always ends with redistribution of wealth from the many to the few.

  • @Chicano4Aztlan Class warfare is immoral to Mexican Catholics:

"The Pastoral Letter explicitly declared that for a Catholic to be a Socialist, or study or teach Socialism, or cooperate to Socialist ends, or even for appearance's sake to feign to approve Socialism, is to commit a "mortal sin." - Catholic Church

  • @Chicano4Aztlan

"No Catholic can be a Socialist, understanding by socialism the philosophical, economic or social system which, in one form or another, does not recognize the rights of God and the Church, nor the natural right of every man to possess the goods he has acquired by his work or has inherited legitimately, or which foments hatred and the unjust struggle of classes." - Archbishop Pascual Diaz and all Catholic archbishops and bishops in Mexico.

  • The difference between a conservative and a liberal is the extent to which they believe in free will

  • @jdubbin78 The connection between (1) fiscal and (2) social conservatives is the belief in the higher power of (1) free markets and (2) God. I believe the free markets are very far superior to Government meddling in every situation. That takes faith (and understanding results of economic research). Belief in God takes faith as well. "Faith" leads to overlapping belief systems.

  • Liberals are cynical and have "faith" in nothing. They trend towards atheist (God does not prevent inequality and stop environmental damage) and Government solutions to economic problems.

But it takes complex nuanced thinking to understand that free markets are superior to Government actions. The simple masses want government to react. Smart thinkers understand that government should step back and allow capitalism to succeed.

  • @islandmuffin And capitalism as it is is so successful right now right? What capitalism is now, is a plutocratic system. And folks on the far left and right are being pitted against each other to assist as a smoke screen.

  • @jmitterii2 Capitalism is most successful. Look at Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands. Government has failed.

In the US, Government's deliberate distortion of the housing market caused houses to be over-valuated, which lead to the real-estate bubble (subprime mortgage crisis), which in turn was the catalyst for the recession.

Obama's failure proves the free market is better at creating prosperity than centralized, government planning.

No data support Keynes. So his dogma is false.

  • Nice Final Fantasy intro music!

  • You look at the average earning for Americans now and 50 years earlier and at first it seems as if workers today are earning a lot more. But then you compare that number with the inflation rate and you see that our hourly eaning rate gets us less that it did 50 years before.
