another great way to save money time and water is my not doing the dishes by hand and using your dishwasher instead but this is only more efficient if you use a full load in the dish washer if you find that you cant seem to get the dish washer full in 2 days you might need a smaller dish washer. but for a family of 4 that shouldn't be a problem.
an easy way to save money and water is by cutting the hose to your washer to as short as is convenient this will not only save water and money but could even save your washing cycle up 30 since the hot water reaches your clothes faster :)
@poorenglishjuggler no i can understand your confusion allow me to elaborate. the shorter the hose the less the amount of water there is in the hose at any given time. the less the cold water is reaching your clothes before the warm water does. so less water wasted and less time needed to wash your clothes using warm water (water in the hose is usually cold unless you have 2 wash cycles close to each other) i hope this was more clear.

@aminizle haha the water reaches the clothes faster! regardless of hose size the ammount of water neede by the machine is the same!
