  • I myself think ,being christian is the biggest gift for me.

Beautiful video my friend .God bless Serbia and Armenia

  • My grandpa's best friends were a Greek and a Turk, one - a Christian, the other - a Muslim. Grandpa was a Bulgarian. Brothers, do not let any nationalistic interests and religions to divide us, the Balkan people!

  • @erotica53 For God and nothing more. God is the only interest I have as an Orthodox. All other things are earthly and are of no power in Heaven. "Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed." John 6:27

Nothing lasts, except in our God and Lord Christ. Only through Him there is life. God always comes first!

  • So US planted a sead of next masacre. This suits them as their industry is based on war and weapon manufacture. So there you are an example of todays crap that will result in slaughter of "Balkanians" who have not even been born yet. Religion is a personal thing. It is my or yours intimate relationship with God. I do respect Islam and Muslims and one should avoid judgement and bias on religious basis.

  • Kosovo Albaninans are not pious Muslims. They have very little religion.Kosovo Serbs live in a nightmare. They survive only in ghettoes guarded by armed forces. If they venture out they are immediately killed. Albanians are destroying Christian civilisation.

  • Thank you for this video! Wonderful chant!

I am Russian, last year I visited Hilandar and enjoyed its hospitality. May God help the Hilandar brethren and be merciful to the people of Serbia, especially to Orthodox Christians of Kosovo opressed by godless barbarians.

  • Dear Slavianophile, as a good Christian you should be fair to other people. Maybe Christians of Kosovo are oppressed by the new Kosovo regime but the Serbian regime oppressed and at times slaughtered large numbers of Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo. Shouldn't you condemn all killings and wars in the World? Would Jesus (pbuh) be happy seeing Orthodox Christians massacring 250,000 Muslims in Bosnia?

And why would you call Muslims "godless barbarians?" Am I a godless barbarian?

  • You should educate yourself more. If you are in Istambul then you probably have access to many libraries and old documents. But in case you can't be bothered let me make this easy for you. Use Youtube. Type "Jasenovac" Follow from there into the past and future. By the way, Serbians have no problems with Muslims as most of them are also Serbians. It is foreign countries that trive on differences. "Devide et impera".

  • I am not entirely sure how your message relates to the message I sent to Slavianophile. I am not Catholic or Croatian or Nazi or Fascist, so I am not sure why you mentioned the Jasenovac massacres (as I wrote my doctoral dissertation on Yugoslav ethnogenesis, I was already aware of Jasenovac). Just like the ethnic cleansing of Muslim Bosnians from the territories of today's Serb Republic, it is another sad chapter of ethnoreligious animosity in the Balkans. Could you clarify what you meant?

  • I only wanted to point out to you that masacres in Balkan happen on "tit for tat" basis. Lets say, when Otomans took over they troubles started on large scale. To avoid persecution many christians(both Catholic & Orthodox) took up Islam. To prove themselves, those new Muslims were more cruel to Christians then actual Turks.

  • When Turks were trown out revanchism started on Muslim Population (In Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria). WWI saw Croats & Muslims in Bosnia atack Serbia as part of AustroHungarean army. Horible attrocities were done in Serbia proper.

  • WWII saw Croart claim that Muslims were "The flower" of Croatian nation and used them to together with Croatian Nazis commit attrocities on Serbs that even Hitler's nazis were horified of. This war (1991-1994) saw Serbs get their shit together to the point that they stoped new genocide and returned some from the past.

  • Serbs were also slaughtered by Muslims and Croats in the last war. Also nobody appears to mention that Croatc almost eliminated all Muslims from Herzegovina (around Mostar). Now US halped Albanians take Kosovo from Serbians. For now powers are as they are and Serbians are quiet. The time will come(as it always does) that tide will change and then there will be new massacre.

So us Balkan people have always been masacring each other for the account of some foreign power.

  • I agree with what you say.

In fact if you revisit my message to Slavianophile, you will see that it was balanced and not disproportionate.

I just took offence when he categorised Kosovars as "brianless barbarians." When Muslims (I am one) say things like "bloodthirsty Serbs" I also remind them that such rhetoric is unacceptable.

I am worried that people think of revenge whilst they listen to this wonderful and inspiring chant. I am sure its message is not about wars and politics.

  • Indeed. Kosovar nationality (as a branch of Albanian nationality) is rather a recent phenomenon and it is based mostly (but not only) based on geography. Otherwise most Albanians in Kosovo consider themselves Albanians just like most Kosovar Serbs consider themselves Serbs. But the practical consideration is that the Kosovar Albanians constitute an overwhelming majority in Kosovo. I am inclined to think that they are entitled to their internal self-determination.

  • I agree. Jugoslavia should have staued. I lived in it and in all honesty I can vauch that ALL nations regardless of their size had full rights and all were equal. In Kosovo at that time Albanians were even in beter position as Tito encouraged them to multiply and he was the godfather to every 9th child in a family. Anyway, those were the naive days of our existance.

All I really wanted to point out is that this situation is as far from solution as ever.

  • As far as self determination is concerned, how about; Kurds in Turkey and Iran, Irish in Northern Ireland, Basques, Tamils, South Osetians, Abkhazians, Russinians, Transnistrians, Corsicans and others who we never learn about?

Matters in Balkan have been overly simplified, unfortunately.

  • @Istanbul1981 Then every minority in a country in the world would be able to cause seperataist sentiment and there would sptrout over 2000 new countries in this world which would lead to world wide wars. What has been done to Serbia by the western politics and western interests has been criminal and one day they will feel the stupidity of what they have done on their skin. Kosovo was never albanian land, and Serbia will never recognise it as a sovering state.
