i'm trying to make my own muscle rig. how do you do skinning for the body when you use muscles? do you skin to the muscle by itself? or is a combination of skinning to both muscle and bone?
That's why i've been studying anatomy for some time now. Trying to get everything as close to real as possible. You can basically fix anything with it, remove all bad deformation if things are set up right. I dunno if you've tried it on the hand as well but specially the thumb as some large muscles. It'd also be interesting to see if it was possible to rig so you could slightly emulate the tendons pulling the fingers up.
thats an interesting rigging method

Hey can you make a tutorial for this? Or give me a good link to a tutorial?

I'd like to know if those muscles are stretchy bones. A method I'm looking at now for rigging more realistically in 3ds max
I will eventually look at Maya's muscle stuff later on too. :P

yes is stretchy bone

In a way glad to hear, cause that shows it works incredibly well :P

yes you just need to place the bones in the right way...to have a good deformation
