Go into camera settings and resets custom functions to default. That should do it. Also put the camera to M (manual) to test. If that does not work, and I do not see why it shouldn't, update the camera firmware from the canon site. Good Luck--A very experienced canon owner
Note: As suggested, selecting "Clear all custom functions" has fixed the problem and although I've lost all my custom settings the camera is at least back to its original "out of the box" state and is working normally. Must have found a bug in the software.

Update: Clear and delete only fixed it that one time and it's back to being broken. Time to send it back to Canon I guess.
