One faithful day, when I was 8, I found a Geodude. But this wasn't just any Geodude. This was a SHINY Geodude. At the time, I didn't know what it was, so i killed it. I told my freinds about it later that day and they didn't belive me. Then, about 3 years later I figured out what a shiny was.... I was crushed.

@TheSunnRose i played thru the game with cyndaquil and i got a poliwrath and a victreebel to cover some weaknesses. i used swinub to take down flying and dragons (unfortunately he's only found later so i guess i recommend an electric type), and for a flying type i recommend dodrio since it is REALLY fast and learns pretty good moves. use any kind of pokemon you want but just take into consideration some of the pokemon types i said.

The pause trick reminds me of how I got through Rock Tunnel the very first time I played Blue version. I didn't know about Flash so (as this was on an original Gameboy) I turned the brightness way up and was just able to make out enough of the surroundings to get through.

Its really amazing how much time has gone by since i got this game eleven years ago, im about to be 17 this year and luckily i still remember walking in the store with my mom and she got me the bundle pack with crystal and the GBA and the funny memory when i first played i didnt know how to get out of the house in the game being that when inside, there is no visible door and my 6 year old mind took a bit to figure that one out but even after all this time, i still love and play this game.

Holy crap, Gastly has HOW much Special Attack?! 100 is excellent for a fully evolved pokemon. For a first-stage pokemon, that's absolutely insane! Hell, that's second only to Abra (and Solosis in gen 5) at 105 SpAtk. Color me impressed.

@bullseyety333 Go find a Game Boy emulator and download a rom of Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Cr­ystal and play it (preferably Yellow or Crystal). Alternatively, get a GBA emulator and download Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald or FireRed/LeafGreen (preferably Emerald if you go for RSE). I suggest the latter options, because it wasn't until gen 3 that Gamefreak really got the mechanics for pokemon games down. (yes, I did just tell you to essentially pirate the game, whatcha gonna do about it)
