Seriously though, I didn't realize that it was New York city. They used the 10th amendment I guess. Otherwise, it would have clearly been an illegal piece of paper (law that conflicts with higher laws). Illegitimate is the technical term, I believe. This includes not just constitutional conflicts. @WunderDoob Sigh...in any case involving a shooting every single police officer that fired a weapon is required to turn in that weapon until the case is closed. After ever shooting, if you fired a round, your gun gets taken away from you by detectives and you have to use a different one. Its goes into the evidence locker for review. What they were showing was unloaded ammunition from one of the officers Ar15's, which uses the .223 and is a very common LE weapon.
