I don't like to accept any claims fully, but I do think that parts of these videos provide a plausible explanation of certain facets of the Bible. You can cross reference the stories in the Torah with the Q'ran and maybe a couple of other old religious texts. Again, it was good until she went down this path. The dates that she compares that are supposed to prove these are the same people don't match up. If anything, the dates of the Hebrew characters are older than the Egyptian ones. She claims that archeologists have proven there were no Hebrew characters that are in the Bible, Mazar has found what she thinks is Davids palace and if a disc with the name of a biblical character in Jeremiah inscribed in it near the site.

Actually, in one of the first videos in the series the narrator outlined the differences between Jews and Zionists. This is just an alternative take on history. Okay, it would make since that his "Hebrew name" of Moses is very similar to the Egyptian name of Thutmose because she and the bible already told us that Moses was raised and named by an Egyptian princess. Of course she would name him an Egyptian type name. Also, the Hebrew didn't seem to put "s" at the end of their names. That's why when written in Greek in the NT they call Elijah the name Elias. I don't like to accept any claims fully, but I do think that parts of these videos provide a plausible explanation of certain facets of the Bible. I mean, could you really PROVE that Ceasar was a real person? I mean none of us were alive then. And none of our great great great great great great grandfathers were alive to witness the existence of the Knights Templar. What if all of THAT was a great hoax, and none of that is real?

Well by that logic you if I understand you right, you can´t believe in anything that you didn´t witness first hand? Well then I´d still go with the events that can be solidified by historical evidence, as opposed to a book that has no historical back up whatsoever. I hope I got your point right.

The Bible has plenty of historical and archeological evidence. I say that completely unbiased, as I am a researcher myself. And many, many historians have used and use to Bible to this day as a starting point for their researches and excavations.

Ok people, bear with me. I disliked grammar in middle school also, but come on now. "Your" indicates possesion, as in "your wife is ugly". "You're" is the combination of you and are (called a contraction), as in "you're an idot and your wife is ugly". I will not go into there, their and they're right now.

Much of this video was based upon a series of revisionary theology books by Ralph Ellis.. "King Jesus", the final book in this series, explores a highly plausible family connection between Queen Cleopatra and Jesus (not the one in this film, which is one generation adrift). The book also goes on to demonstrate that King Jesus was planning to take the throne of Rome, but lost this battle and was exiled to England.

I've heard that one before, and you can't use that example at all, because the wind is just air molecules moving, gas particles.
Whereas God, is a made up story, a retelling of many previous stories, compiled in a book, which you read and now fully believe despite a complete lack of evidence.
So those two example are stupid. If God existed why did he used to get so active in peoples lives over the smallest injustice and now doesn't care? lol

I am sorry to say, but this comment is pretty fucking stupid...
She asks questions, and answers them by showing the coincidences and similarities between historical events and the stories of the bible..the way to understand this is by thinking. You can have everything spelled out for you, but the makers of this documentary obviously presuppose thinking abilities in the watchers.

"Historically Profound"? That means IMPORTANT or INTERESTING. What is the point of proving that something is historically profound?? You could make up a story of aliens placing Adolf Hitler on this earth, and then you would PROVE that he killed millions of Jews (which would be PROFOUND). I´m sorry I´m not a native speaker, english is only my second language. If I misused the word profound I apologize, but still I have no clue what post is supposed to mean. And the point of proving something is to validate it and not just having it be a simple statement. I don´t know if that separation is of any interest for a religious person though.

Again, I actually am interested in non fictional parts of the bible, and I don´t say that as a mockery. I would really like to know about them, if there are such parts. Unfortunately nobody will tell me where to find them. So I think saying NONE of it is provable is perfectly ok. I will take that back given valid points that I´m wrong though.

Well, I would say that the Bible should be taken with a grain of salt (a very LARGE grain of salt if that makes any sense). You can cross reference the stories in the Torah with the Q'ran and maybe a couple of other old religious texts. It is CLEAR that the BIBLE has been written by those in power, and manipulated to serve their needs. There is nothing useful in the Bible that can't be found by meditative practice. TRUST YOURSELF NOT KINGS FROM HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO!!!
