The lion was probably moving toward Steve and somebody with a stick tried to prevent it from getting close enough to attack him (whether that was the lion's intention or not) which is why the lion was strafing. if you look closely at 1:45/6 you see the sticks way to close to the lions. the reason why they where on edge was because their was someone new and unfamiliar, but they weren't doing anything till the sticks we there. Other wise they where being causaous even when Kevin was their they knew, that he had there trust. And so they let the other guy in there too.

On closer inspection, the lions on the left was actually moving away from the 2 guys holding the sticks. Same with the lion on the right. Obviously he scared the lions on purpose.

I was expecting a bloodbath with the cameraman screaming and cowering in the corner, filming the lion gnawing away at the guys leg while hes begging for someone to help him.
Instead i got what appeared to be heavily sedated lions who just wanted to sleep and looked incapable of attacting anyone.

Keep replaying 1:46. The lions are frightened of the sticks. At no time did they attempt to attack Steve or the handler.
I would say it's clever camera tricks, but I spotted it quite easily. I guess some people are just really naive and don't understand how TV works. This video would have 0 views if they didn't try to fake a lion attack.
Reminds me of the time the BBC threw boxes of lemmings off a cliff, just to get views.

On closer inspection, the lions on the left was actually moving away from the 2 guys holding the sticks. Same with the lion on the right. Obviously he scared the lions on purpose.

The only thing the lions do, is at 1:46.
The rest was edited to make it look more dangerous that it really was, as you notice the camera has no lions in shot at anytime after 1:46. The sounds were added to make it seem dangerous.

I'm so glad he wasn't injured!! I think it's amazing that lions just gave him fair warning. If they wanted to do him harm, it would have been done.
