  • RAW!

  • lol. The cover of this EP is a reference to the Beatles 45s from Capitol. Haha.

  • OMG<3

  • 2:35, I start hysterically laughing ahaha, man, I love The Strokes! love you jules! xD

  • wow, kind of on speed don't you think? Final version turned out better

  • Why are people talking about Angles being a shitty album? This is from ITI, and every Strokes album put out there is gonna be pure genuis. Their a fucking amazing band, Angles isn't shit, First Impressions isn't shit, Room On Fire isn't shit and Is This It isn't shit. So shut the fuck up. I can't even chose a favorite album becuase their all so mind blowingly amazing. Okay, I'm done :D

  • @itsbrennabitch18 I agree. Anybody who says a stroke album "Is Shit" Isn't worthy of being a fan of the strokes.

  • FAAAAAASSTT <3

  • better than the album version. julian casablancas sounds even more like lou reed here haha

  • first time i heard it on my table, i changed the speed because i thought it was wrong xDD

  • sounds like something from the 70s

  • angles is a bit of genius, and even if it wasn't your favorite strokes album you. if you even have 1/8 the creativity these guys posses you would be some extraordinary individual. you still have to give them credit for room on fire, is this it, and yes even first impressions.

  • @OGanj280 i agree man, i actually thought first impressions was great and angles is definitely their second best. i think their next could finally be better than 'is this it' if there is one

  • the song would sound better if it was slowed down.. even slower than the is this it version imo

one of my all time favs

  • The reason this sounds so good and raw is because it was live and the vocals were recorded through a tiny keyboard speaker

  • i like the is this it version better, simply becuase it's more "i don't give a fuck" :-) this is one of my favorite songs ever though

  • angles should have never been released

  • @JohnnyCagePro Why? come on...enlighten us.

  • @euyfdvfhj because it was pretty shit

  • @RoryAstenBell It has a few great songs....which most albums do.

  • i like this version. this is when they were really having fun with their music. like when they truley loved playing and preforming.

  • I'm glad Julian switched his style up. I don't know if I would have started liking them if his singing sounded like this on Is This It.

  • @juanseybold really??? theres a reason why his first ttwo albums were the strokes best and sold way more. his voice was more distorted ,less produced and more rawand less forced for high pitches. You felt it more.im not saying there other stuff is bad. .. do you know how rare that is in music today??

  • @StupidTeddybear I think you misunderstood me. This recording is from their EP, before their first album. He changed his style somewhere between this and Is This It. His voice is softer and not as in your face on Is This It. And yeah, he used vocal distortion because he was self conscious about his voice. And it was less produced because that's how their style was, in common with the whole "The" band phenomena from the early 2000's. They wanted it to sound like it was from the 60's.

  • This is the best version of this song

  • This is definitely the Strokes most Velvet Underground-ish song.....I can play this back to back with "Waiting for my Man".

  • @elementz1986

    word.

  • this is so raw, sooo great . why cant there be more bands like this

  • Today is the 10 year anniversary! :D

  • @lgohthirteen so happy birthday !

  • This is the better version of the two, I think. I get bummed when this one doesn't come on. Better tempo and more expression in his voice. One of a kind - always makes me smile.

  • they make me think of lou reed and the velvet underground

  • a much more rock and roll version of the song vs. the one on is this it.

  • It sounds sped up for some reason.

  • @epicchic This is how it sounded the first time I heard it years ago. How it should be IMo

  • @epicchic back in the day they played it like that. thats the reason.

  • It's the EP version. Different than the album version.

  • Awesome...

  • lolol 2:04 I think that makes me like this version even better

  • Such character in his voice, it's stunning. So amazing! :)

  • It's funny, I saw this one was shorter than the album version, then as soon as I heard the opening tempo I realized why. Really cool version of this song!

  • Casablancas stated that before recording their EP, he was listening to the Velvet Underground's "Loaded" non-stop. Maybe that's way his voice sounds Lou Reed-ish.

  • @dundee12 Well, he always sounds like Lou Reed to me, but yeah, especially here.

That's not a bad thing at all, though. Its refreshing!

  • @dundee12 kick ass album for anyone that's never heard it ;)

  • This is the perfect mixture of Lou Reed and New Order (reminds me of Ceremony)

  • @kostasxrysogelos i didn't think of new order, good point

  • I could enjoy this version with a little more production. But the most important part, the chorus, definitely sounds better to me when it's communicated intimately.

  • I love this version so much more.

  • this faster version is miles better!

  • I feel like the just walked into the studio and were like "ALL RIGHT WE'RE GONNA GIT THIS DONE!"

  • hahahahhahHAHijlhCKJshFKLZSJDGHKDBV

  • @STRATOCASTER HELL YES WIN

  • haha i totally agree! but still great.

  • This one is so fast it's actually hilarious!

  • LOU REED WANNABE

  • Lmao, he actually does sound so much like Lou Reed in the earlier work it's funny. This whole track makes me laugh to be honest.

  • LMFAO lou reed is fucking dull compared to casablancas, boring ass motherfucker

  • You're an idiot

  • I'm sure Julian Casablancas disagrees strongly.

  • ha ha, this is cool, but then i like the "is this it?" version better

there's just something about it that seems right

  • makes me laugh :D

  • i approve of this

  • yay

  • Hammond and Moretti were 21 years old here.

  • please send me a download link for this stuff please

  • wow sounds a lot more quicker

  • he sounds kinda black sometimes.. or is it just me??

  • LOL! umm somewhat. It definitely sounds different. Deeper maybe?
