I also thik the media is such a controlling force in the states when it comes to politics. Most voters are grossly misinformed because fox news focus more on flag pins than they do on actual issues. Again, while faulting the American media, I am not saying the Canadian media is without it's flaws. I just find that controversy in the Canadian media is reported, but in the American media, it is perpetuated. Canada far from ideal, but we have more choices and are more informed.

As a Canadian I am not sure if I am more disgusted by the comments in this thread, or the grotesque ignorance of some of the people making them. It seems that the only negative comments I have thus heard on Obamas campaign are baseless and driven by paranoia - but never true. It is sad that a country in an economic crisis (driven by the Bush administration) is so quick to vote Republican. McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. Do the rest of the world a favour and vote based on policy.

I meant repubilcan as in the McCain/Palin ticket. But, no democracy is perfect, and unfortunately Harper has aligned much of his politics to replicte an American-style. He however, does not have the power as a President, especially in a minority government. Not to mention Canada has three major parties, and the Green Party is growing in popularity! Also, a party like the NDP couldn't exist in the States, most Americans hear the word 'social democracy' and think of Stalinism.

I don't know what you people think after watching this 46 minutes-and-change video, but I have come to the conclusion that Obama responded to the questions that were presented to him very very well, in fact, these probably were the best responses by a person in an interview of any kind ever, but I really cannot expect less than that from Obama, because if he can make amazing speech after amazing speech, then he can respond to questions like these the same way.
