  • Love music history. It is nice to see and hear this song played on the Victor Credenza.Your historical narrative was very nice also.

  • Thanks for sharing this and your Victrola. Give as much intro as you like, anytime. Hey, it's your dime! Besides, I love hearing any little trivia and stories to broaden my experience of the record.

  • I don't mind the spoken lead in either. I am going to find some Mildred for myself. I really enjoy her voice.

  • Unlike what Show says I enjoyed your introduction. Thank you for it.

  • A "newer" ALL OF ME at my channel; but this is awesome, and thanks for the introduction.

  • Cool Nice video I also have some PaulWhiteman records awesome

Thanks for placeing this on youtube

  • More people appreciate your intro than those that don't. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with those of us who love the jazz age. :)

  • nice and great info u shared

  • i'm 19 but i love this music,is so...perfect!

  • thanks victrola man!

  • Victrolaman - Talk to ME! I love to hear your interesting stories, and it builds anticipation for the song that is to follow. I live alone and am so happy to hear a pleasant voice like yours.

  • That cat was just drunk. I want to thank you for the dignity and respect with which you shared such a treasure. Truly cool. As for the slag, cats like that, you just know, never danced.Thank you

  • l don't necessarily agree with show111yes2's comment dissing the introduction, but for those wishing to skip it, the music starts at 0:45.

    Thanks for sharing it Victrolaman!

  • Please continue giving your intros. I teach 20th Century Music Appreciation in Israel.

Allof my students love it when they can relate the music to the period. Glee! eat your heart out!

  • Classic!

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Very nice Bruce, I have this record to, Mildred is my second favorite female singer of this time, first place is Annette H. Played the 8-12 most of the morning while wrapping gifts, need to get that listed on here to. Merry Christmas Bruce

  • Sorry you are so disappointed and unhappy with the introduction. I enjoy sharing my collection, and historical knowledge of the early days of recorded sound with the general Public but if even one person is not happy, then I am not happy. Please let me know if you would like me to put up another version of the Mildred Bailey Classic, music only !! You also realize that you can fast forward past the intro just to hear the music ? Thanks for leaving this note about this.

  • Oh boy do I love Mldred Bailey...love her later work ...especially with Red Norvo

  • what are the lyrics for this song ?

  • listen to it and find out?! from 2.40...

thanks victrolaman - turns out this was no.1 the day my dad was born. strange to discover!

  • Thanks for posting. I've been looking for this version for a long time and I was so pleased to find it here. I have played for at least 20 times now.

  • Thank you for your continuing support.

    Victrolaman

  • Very pretty.!!

  • Nice! I "discovered" Paul Whiteman, in about 1966, when I was about 15 yr old, and have been a fan ever since!!

  • Very nice!
