Just throwing this out there... Even though I really dislike the small little changes they did to Harley Quinn, less bubbly and cutesy, more seductive, no accent- little things like that. I rather enjoyed the show. They made the Joker look sort of silly in the flash backs though, but he did look like the Joker at least lol. I don't know much about the comics this show was based off of, but from what I do know, they did pretty well on this.

@yellabonej24 The TV version of BoP was unique because it combined elements from several different continuities and added its own spin. The Huntress being Batman and Catwoman's daughter is from one continuity while Barbara being crippled by the Joker was from a later continuity, though it occurred differently in the comics. The BoP concept is also different in the comics, but this show meshed them nicely IMO.
@yellabonej24 actually in the 1980's comic series"Crisis on Infinate Earths" Batman and Catwoman did have a daughter names Huntress (Selina). That was on Earth 2 where Batman also died the worlds merged into one. Which DC tried to sort out in Infinate Crisis a couple of years ago. and the show didnt work because they didnt put time and money into it.

@yellabonej24 You're right and wrong. In the comic, Batman had a child with a woman, and named the boy Damien Wayne. Catwoman had a daughter named Helena, who was theorized to be Batman's child (therefore her name was Helena Wayne as well), but I think you find out in later comics that he was not the father.

The episodes are available on Itunes. Even though it's only 1 season, it's still DEFINITELY worth checking out in my opinion. I downloaded every episode.
I liked Birds of Prey and wish it had lasted longer, but at least they had enough head's up to wrap up their story lines as smoothly as they managed to.

I think I read something somewhere about the showrunners and producers and all that having differences with the WB network. They wanted to cut Barbara from the show ... or have less of her because of some stupid reason. And they were back and forth arguing, so the WB cancelled them. They did have AMAZING ratings tho...

@Matt561 Actually, I believe that the writer was planning on having a second season, but the way that the network did things (IE, making Dinah younger to attract a younger audience) made certain things not work. I'm pretty sure that they were trying to get some other heroes in there as well.
@TheRealCodeBlack What I am guessing, the writers decided to use the whole... Infinite Universe ideal... It's actually stated in one of the comics that in another universe Batman and Catwoman had a child, and it was Huntress. And that isn't Black Canary in this series, it was her daughter.
@LightDragoenix Yeah, Silver Age Huntress was their daughter, but modern Huntress isn't... so it's kind of interesting that they mixed various versions of the characters.
And the Black Canary, at least the current one, is the daughter of the original Black Canary, so that fits also. I don't know where the psychic thing comes from, though.
the reason why the show bombed, no costems or real super hero antics, no real villians that DC would allow to be placed in the series, and no, blueish flashbacks with a guy dressed as the joker with mark hamil's voice dubbed over does not count.
I AGREE TOTALLY... I watched a few episodes but it needed more than what the show was allowed... I needed to see batman at least once every second show.. again you nailed it ..the joker deserves better
@sweetyrolls2 Clayface was in it, does he not count as a real DC villain? Or Harley? As for the rest it DOES take place in the distant future (far enough for Harley to get a new life anyway) so Who knows what could've happened to the rest of the villains, dead, incarcerated, off to new cities.
Keep in mind this is a generation after batman so Harley Quinn as the young psychotic girl would be older now that is why they cast an older woman as the character or it wouldnt make sense in the timeline

Why didn't the writers include Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley aka Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn's best friend. Unlike most villain team-ups, their partnership seems to be genuinely rooted in friendship, and Ivy sincerely wants to save Harley from her abusive relationship with the Joker. Ivy sympathizes with Harley, as Harley is mistreated by the man she loves. :(
Too bad that The Joker never battled Helena Wayne aka The Huntress or I never got to see other Batman foes in that Birds of Prey Series besides Clayface, Harley Quinn, Lady Shiva, and Catwoman. And it's not the same without The Duke of Duality, Harvey Dent aka Two-Face.
THESTARTREKER, this show never had chance to make it. WB wanted to cash off on Smallville and they failed. At first they wanted to have a show of a young Bruce Wayne traveling the world to prepare himself to be Batman, but Christopher Nolan sold them the Batman Begins idea and I'm glad he did instead of this CHEESY show. It's nice to see heros and villains in their suits instead of this crap.
First Harley isn't gonna be in the next Batman film nor is Kristen Bell is playing her so I don't know who's giving you false info and Second they haven't even started a script and Nolan hasn't said yes yet.
Anyways Mia Sara was ok for Harley too bad they ruined this show,it had potential.The whole Huntress not wearing a mask was stupid & Black Canary wasn't even Black Canary so they ruined her part.The only complaint I have what they did with Harley is making her a Metahuman that was dumb.
I know they made her a metahuman in the last episode but the point is is that the character isn't and has no powers what so ever.Just like Huntress and Catwoman are not metahumans but yet for some reason they felt they should be which was stupid.The only thing good with this show was Oracle/Batgirl the flashbacks with her and Batman and Joker.The casting for Huntress was good just the whole no mask,costume and powers thing was stupid.Typical WB teen drama crap

But from what I see of the show, they ruined the name of Harley if Mia Sara was supposed to be her. *shudder* Just as bad as what I saw they did when Joker shot Barbara and, somehow, knowing it was Batgirl. i like this harley. if u saw any of the episodes she was more mature, but she did have some twisted humor to her persona. She wasn't as "dorky" because she didn't have the joker by her side. But she mad ma laugh alot. Also i thought they did a good job on her costume in the last episode. It looks more modern and more mature. they still kept the black diamonds and the colors were the same. I loved this Harley.
Its amazing that I find Mia Sara as Harley very attractive even though its been many years since she was in Ferris Buellers Day Off or Legend. Something about the way she played the character was kinky. Still, it is a lot different than the Harley from the animated series.

Yeah it was Harley Quinn this was Birds of Prey show from the WB and it was canceled because of ratings but Mia Sarah was wonderful as Harley Quinn. And this by the way is a more modern version of her you'll get no costume except the red and black one she wore on the final fight. I loved her on that show.
Harley still showed some zaniness in the show, but it was minimal due to her being a lot more calculating and sinister than her cooky cartoon counterpart.

The show didn't bomb, It avg 7.1 Million viewers a show and was the networks biggest hit.
But its like they only expected to have one season the way everything tied up in the first season.

I think I read something somewhere about the showrunners and producers and all that having differences with the WB network. They wanted to cut Barbara from the show ... or have less of her because of some stupid reason. And they were back and forth arguing, so the WB cancelled them. They did have AMAZING ratings tho...

@Matt561 Actually, I believe that the writer was planning on having a second season, but the way that the network did things (IE, making Dinah younger to attract a younger audience) made certain things not work. I'm pretty sure that they were trying to get some other heroes in there as well.

@TheRealCodeBlack What I am guessing, the writers decided to use the whole... Infinite Universe ideal... It's actually stated in one of the comics that in another universe Batman and Catwoman had a child, and it was Huntress. And that isn't Black Canary in this series, it was her daughter.

@LightDragoenix Yeah, Silver Age Huntress was their daughter, but modern Huntress isn't... so it's kind of interesting that they mixed various versions of the characters.
And the Black Canary, at least the current one, is the daughter of the original Black Canary, so that fits also. I don't know where the psychic thing comes from, though.

@sweetyrolls2 Clayface was in it, does he not count as a real DC villain? Or Harley? As for the rest it DOES take place in the distant future (far enough for Harley to get a new life anyway) so Who knows what could've happened to the rest of the villains, dead, incarcerated, off to new cities.

Keep in mind this is a generation after batman so Harley Quinn as the young psychotic girl would be older now that is why they cast an older woman as the character or it wouldnt make sense in the timeline

Why didn't the writers include Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley aka Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn's best friend. Unlike most villain team-ups, their partnership seems to be genuinely rooted in friendship, and Ivy sincerely wants to save Harley from her abusive relationship with the Joker. Ivy sympathizes with Harley, as Harley is mistreated by the man she loves. :(

THESTARTREKER, this show never had chance to make it. WB wanted to cash off on Smallville and they failed. At first they wanted to have a show of a young Bruce Wayne traveling the world to prepare himself to be Batman, but Christopher Nolan sold them the Batman Begins idea and I'm glad he did instead of this CHEESY show. It's nice to see heros and villains in their suits instead of this crap.

First Harley isn't gonna be in the next Batman film nor is Kristen Bell is playing her so I don't know who's giving you false info and Second they haven't even started a script and Nolan hasn't said yes yet.
Anyways Mia Sara was ok for Harley too bad they ruined this show,it had potential.The whole Huntress not wearing a mask was stupid & Black Canary wasn't even Black Canary so they ruined her part.The only complaint I have what they did with Harley is making her a Metahuman that was dumb.

I know they made her a metahuman in the last episode but the point is is that the character isn't and has no powers what so ever.Just like Huntress and Catwoman are not metahumans but yet for some reason they felt they should be which was stupid.The only thing good with this show was Oracle/Batgirl the flashbacks with her and Batman and Joker.The casting for Huntress was good just the whole no mask,costume and powers thing was stupid.Typical WB teen drama crap

Not your video, because I think you did a good job with timing and scene selection. But from what I see of the show, they ruined the name of Harley if Mia Sara was supposed to be her. *shudder* Just as bad as what I saw they did when Joker shot Barbara and, somehow, knowing it was Batgirl. Then again, that's what happens when they try to market serious, well-made characters to teenage girls on WB.

i like this harley. if u saw any of the episodes she was more mature, but she did have some twisted humor to her persona. She wasn't as "dorky" because she didn't have the joker by her side. But she mad ma laugh alot. Also i thought they did a good job on her costume in the last episode. It looks more modern and more mature. they still kept the black diamonds and the colors were the same. I loved this Harley.

Its amazing that I find Mia Sara as Harley very attractive even though its been many years since she was in Ferris Buellers Day Off or Legend. Something about the way she played the character was kinky. Still, it is a lot different than the Harley from the animated series.

Yeah it was Harley Quinn this was Birds of Prey show from the WB and it was canceled because of ratings but Mia Sarah was wonderful as Harley Quinn. And this by the way is a more modern version of her you'll get no costume except the red and black one she wore on the final fight. I loved her on that show.
