i'm good at using windows OS hence need to install it. i will be installing windows using external cd/dvd ROM...

please help me in installing WINDOWS in detail .

I'm unable to start with anything...

hey do i need a floppy drive to install xp on a sata hdd? i have tried installing it without one but it wont find the hdd.

@LL1K Set the sata mode to compatability or IDE in the bios and not raid or AHCI. If you have it set to raid or ahci you will need a floppy or to slipstream the drivers. IDE/Compatability mode should work fine.

i got a new hard drive for my laptop, and recovery discs. do I put the disc in, with the hard drive all insterted, and having the cd/dvd rom as first? Wil this start my "Welcome to Windows XP (Factory process)" come? Thanks.

When your in Bios you just look around and exit or do select cd/dvd rom and exit the last step
