Oops, it was actually a catatonic state. Sorry. Its kind of a similar thing so I got confused. And you know, its been a while since I saw the movie so I can't remember what exactly happened to him there, but it is what happened in the book.

@terry2003terry2003 Still, he did torture a man. A man who was already being put to death, but that was not enough for him. He had to cause him pain out of shear spite. Everything he did was out of shear spite. He abused his power to terrorize the inmates and threaten his superiors' jobs. Plus, he stood by as someone was being choked and was fully capable of doing something about it. All actions of a sociopathic coward. Plain and simple.

@terry2003terry2003 Lets not forget that Del may have started it with the laughing, but here is what Percy did to pay him back; break his fingers, kill his mouse, and what else... oh yeah, TORTURE him to death. (and don't say he didn't know that would happen, he knew something was gonna happen)

Feel bad for him if you want but he gave way more than he got when it comes to Del. Afterward, he ended up in a coma and never had to face the consequences. Got off lucky if you ask me.
