  • I also highly recommend this book!

  • Really enjoyed your presentation! Excellent!

  • I just read this book today. I agree with your sentiments exactly.

  • Thanks Steven. Reminds me to Work smarter rather than harder within my perceptions while understanding theirs. Peace be with you

  • Oh! Doesn't rule 2 contradict rule 3? "They're not talking about you, it they're perception of you" But rule 3: Don't make assumptions. Well, then don't assume they're perception of you isn't a more accurate assumption of who you are. What about this: Don't assume the four agreements isn't just a badly written money making scheme four a douche bag who prays on middle aged, crystal loving plebs with failed businesses, who need a smack because they're sad because people are mean to them. Fuck Off.

  • Sounds like a boyscout life manual for 4th graders. When you are immune to the opinion or actions of others, you are actually a sociopath. "How many of us got upset because we thought Sally hates us?," he said to his class of ten year-old Autistics. If this book changed your life, what were you like before the loud shirts (short sleeved I bet) and giant head, Michael Scott? Good Luck.

  • This is the best book ever,l think everyone should give there friends, sisters, neighbors this book it is helping me in so many ways l wish l had this book years ago.

As a matter of fact l will give everyone l know a copy of this book for Xmas of birthdays.

  • thank you for this summary.. I am going to read the book.

  • I stumbled upon this video. I bought this book last year. Great stuff. I'm going to look through it again tonight. The other 2-3 books this author wrote are excellent as well.

  • For the time being I had to rent from the library still waiting for the mastery of love o.o it had like 20 holds for it i got my hands on the first and 3rd books.

  • They have it at every bookstore , I got it at Hastings for 10 bucks . Don't be lazy , buy it ! I just made an assumption a judgement and was acting with self importance LOL . Really it is a great book I bought 3 copies so I could give one to my mother and one to my best friend . I am still having trouble applying it , but I am improving a little at a time . Good luck to everyone who reads this important work .

  • Thank you for posting - Don Miguel is a wonderfully wise man and yet puts his wisdom in such a simplistic form for many to be able to understand and apply. Keep up your own great work!

  • This book changed my life for the GOOD!

  • Very good explanations !

    I love all Ruiz's books!

  • I agree with you!! I accidently hit the wrong hand signal on the right. Sorry...I wanted to hit the thumbs up!

  • 3 books that shaped my life are:

4 Agreements - Power of Now - Ka hana Pono (ancient Hawaiian wisdom - those ancients knew some shit!!)

  • ive read the power of now and the 4 agreements, i think i will give that hawaiian book a shot. can ut ell me more about it?

  • I just finished reading the book and feel that your summation is excellent. You will really help a lot of people change their lives with your summary and urging them to read this book.

  • Hello, thank you very much for this beautiful presentation of Don Ruiz's book. I read most of the book about three days ago and it is truely inspiring... and accessible to just anyone who may want read it - which I find priceless.

  • I love this book too.. Iv read it like 3 times...

If you like this book, I suggest to you the Book of Mormon.

You seem like a really bright guy, and I think you would get alot from it.. give it a try... Any "Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints" will give you one.. cheers !!!

  • omg read the books again mormans and a lot of religions are full of lies. Be knowlegable of those lies. when a religion just goes beleive what u want then I don't care but don't take anything personally

  • thanks to you - and to the toltec people for the wisdom :)

    respect :)

  • it really was a good book

  • I've read it. To me, it's ageless wisdom and worth the time to consider..

  • We read a part of this in English class. It's a great book!

  • Also I'd like to say very well done to this guy. He explained himself very coherantly.

  • Thank you

  • I have to say I have found toltec wisdom incredibly useful in my life. To the point where some of the agreements mentioned in this video have become part of my thought processes. The beautiful thing about it is that you can take what you wish and disgard what you feel does not suit you because its a very liberal philosophical unlike certain religions. Deep down I think its fundamentally just common sense and how to reach an understanding of ones behaviour and others. How to be human..

  • I agree

  • yes, maybe some toltecs were dominated as a goverment, but the also had poeple that were aganist that, and those are to ones that lived by these principles, you can beliveve it or not the, 4 agreement, I have used them. helps me throw out the gargage in my mind. so what if ruiz is making money off this, some of his thinking is deep. what ever works for you hun.

  • Good point

  • Again, another false author with simple ideas for simple regular people. This has nothing to do with Sorcerers or Naguals. This is to sell a book after Carlos Castaneda died. Otherwise Ruiz would have been sued .

  • yes, this definitely is a guy who stole from Castaneda's work to make money. But don't assume that historians are gods either, according to Castaneda, Toltec means "one who has knowledge"; I believe Castaneda because I've experience some of what he wrote about. But Miguel? You can tell he is full of it.

  • He didn't have to use a lie to sell his book.

He could have named it something else.

"my cilantro wisdom" "A bean spoke to me"

    "Wisdom in a burrito".

But to distort and mislead people by saying this is Toltec Wisdom is fraud.

In fact the Toltecs did NOT live by this principles, as they ASSUMED if you weren't one of them you were their enemy, and they would kill you on make you a slave.

  • A good point. It is clear that this "Toltec wisdom" is initially a take off on the legacy of Carlos Castaneda. It is a mind science - somewhat useful - but we have to go beyond mere psychology to fully understand the meaning of existence.

  • Agreed. A Taoist would say that existance is unknowable and anyone who says they understand it clearly doesn't. But don't listen to me because I don't know.

  • what do you know about toltecs.. have you ever been there?. have you been deep in the jungle with them?

  • Nice book but ultimately its very pantheistic and counter to the christian message. It's "not religion but sprituality"....??? one is connected to the other.

  • From knowing TOLTECS history hun.

Contact a Historian. The word Toltec means "master builders" they were artists but they were also brutal warrior conqering and slaving, they dominated the Mayan for a while.

I'm NOT saying those aren't good principles to live by.

BUT there are NOT Toltec history of have ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE TOLTECS.

  • This is NOT TOLTEC WISDOM.

It may be good rules to live by, but it has NOTHING to do with the Toltecs.

The toltecs were warriors, blodd thirsty, human sacrificing, conquerors, who woould rule under military principles and enslaved others.

If people like the book is one thing, but Ruiz is NOT a historian and his claim that his book is Toltec Wisdom is a lie, a marketing strategy and a fraud.

He should get sued and should have not invent that this has anything to do with the Toltecs.

  • Interesting. Where does the anger come from?

  • Why do you assume he/she is angry>.> ? Did you not just state that the book said to not assume anything? Then again, I can not assume that you follow that lesson yourself.

  • Good point. No I fall short daily. Such is the nature of humans. But really the comment is angry. That is not an assumption. The thing many civilizations have awsome ideas that arn't realized by thier Government. Perhaps they were war like but perhaps some of them suggested these thoughts. I guess I don't care where they came from. They make sense and that is the bottom line.

  • Thank you.

  • would you define love, knowledge, hate. to understand each other

  • Love as God experiences it is beyond our ability to understand. Love as humans understand it is an unconditional acceptance of joyful intent. I don't understand hate so I can't explain it. Knowledge is understanding.

  • I enjoyed your video. I am in a group that is reading and discussing this book together all through June. Maybe you would enjoy that. Today we started discussing being impeccable with your words. Go to antcomic and watch today's video for June 1st if you want to of course. Maybe you would enjoy following along in the discussion.

  • love this book. I am reading the mastery of love. I'm only 18, but feel like I am much older as I read this book

  • Good for you. Wished I had read them when I was 18

  • Thanks! I've given this book to so many people already. I talk about these lessons with my 27 year old cousin. I still have problems with some of the agreements, but mastery of these agreements take time. I am a few pages away from being done with The Master of Love and I was taken aback by how people treat others and what true relationships truly mean. I'm happy I was exposed to this at a young age though

  • awsome... i read the book and it inspires. and might i also add that when taking nothing personal that includes compliments. if i have a degreee of self value, i dont need anyone to reinforce it, in other words get to truly know yourself and what youre worth, and nobody could ever tell you otherwise.

  • Great book review. I'm going out to get this book. Thank you.

  • Despite this guy's rationalizations the book isn't ment to be explained to strangers via the internet. Just read it for yourself.

  • I bought the book recently, and I read it once so far, getting a good idea of these powerful agreements and being inspired by them.

However... reading the book is not enough.

To make it stick, it has to be applied and practiced over and over again.

Otherwise, it quickly fades into the depths of the mind, and everyday, 'unconscious' life continues like it always did.

  • Good point. I worked hard over an extended period to incorporate these ideas into my life. Now its become habit and is easy. keep at it.

    Thanks for the comment

  • Such a clear and succinct overview of this amazing book! I have equally found Don Miguel Ruiz's teachings helpful in dealing with my emotions...so logical and easy to apply.

I'm currently reading Don Miguel Ruiz's book The Voice of Knowledge, which is about changing our story if we wish to do so. I'm planning to utilize these techniques in my life and in providing counsel to others.

These teachings, I believe, gives new hope for people to become who they really want to be.

  • All of his books are great. Enjoy

  • Thank you

  • Thank You for posting this....now I just need to get my hands on the book...:-)

  • Great job. I read this book in about three hours and will truly remember it always.

  • Great summary. I've read the four agreements and it had tremendously changed my life. I recommend everybody to read the four agreements. I'm also reading the mastery of love by don miguel ruiz and the book is full of wisdom. Great job again, and please let's pronounce his last name right, hahahaa.

  • My mother's friend gave the book to me. It is a good book. I'd recommend everybody to read it

  • I think they should have this book in all the high schools in America. We need to educate y our youth to change their agreements. They gave to realize integrity and responsiblity for their actions. So many are angry, but mabye they have a reason, and their parents should listen to them.

  • A friend who i met online who was brilliant at trivia. recommended this book to me, and it has changed my life, and my persepective of everything.

  • great video, i have read and studied all of his books and yes they will change your life and it is great to finally see more and more people understanding.

  • Thanks for posting this, great job.

  • i just cmnted your other video - but found this one where you talk about the book im reading :) and its very inspiring to see other people reading it and leaving positive comments.

the book was recommended to me by one of my close friends, and we're also going to check out his other books :) anyway, great video :)

    happy new year.

  • Book changed my life - have read it 5 times and will continue to read and study it...

  • I think I'll check this out. Sounds very compatible with Basicanism, which also speaks of ideas that are found everywhere. From the sound of your summary, I can right away think of at least four people I might want to pass this along to - oh, make that five or six. Thanks!

  • "Roooiz"..cmon now...Pronounce the man's name correctly or at least attempt to..It's insulting. GREAT! Book no doubt

  • Read the book & I'm sure would never make the mistake of leaving such a reply again.

  • Dont get insulted Marcoantonio.

    1. be impeciable with your word

    2. dont take anything personally
