  • I saw this on animal planet. There are pretty amazing. They start as small worms or something and they grow big lol. They are in coral and the make their homes in the coral. On animal planet the guy couldnt figure out what happened to his plants and stuff so he looked under every rock and a 5ft long centipeed came out haha. Anyway, nice vid:)

  • this makes me want to vomit

  • This looks like a Eunicid worm rather than a bristle worm. I too would recommend that you kill it dead. Bristle worms (for the most part) are amazing tank citizens. Eunicid worms this big tend to be the kind of citizen that eats all your corals while you aren't watching.

  • net it, and fling it on someone in a fancy restaurant.

  • that's bit a bristle worm, but a bobbit or eucnid (sp?) worm

  • I saw one in california and tried to capture it, but when it's leg grab my fingers and curl arround it i got freak out and drop it. after wards i killed it cut it to pieces and use it for fish bait.

  • @uni143corn haha wth lol

  • wht a freaky thing...harmless but ugly XD i dont like it looks like it could life of my body..like a parasite or something...in the end it will go in your mouth ...how are these worm things called?that life inside your stomach?freaky..

  • one that big can eat small fish

  • I have one too, really not dangerous to the life in the reef,. but, they can bite pretty nasty..

  • @filathor No they can't. In fact they don't even have teeth.

  • @worId they have jaws allright, I know so, cause i feed my with shrimps, and he grabs them with black jaws that comes out from the mouthpart, and i have been bitten by a smaller Norwegian counterpart..

so I know they can bite pretty bad, and some species of bristleworms(fireworms) can be very poisonous

  • Thats some stupid things you did it can be beautiful and why do you kill it when the worm done do someting to you man MLGKarma its right That give you bad karma man.....

  • If i put a big crab vs it who will win?

  • harpoon it and eat it man

  • kill it!!! Every time I see disguisting worms like that I just want to kill and hurt them badly. I love animals but I cannot stand worms. Especially not monster-worms.

  • @xcoffeinex What exactly are you scared off? These creatures can't harm you unless you're stupid enough to pick one up.

  • @worId

Just take a look at that thing! I t freaks me out! I found a tiny tiny one in my tank the other day, he went straight down the toilet..

  • it's a eunice worm and a big one at that.

very common worm and not reef and fish safe in my opinion but are very interesting none the less.

also google bobbit worm or eunice worm

  • for the sake of heaven, kill it at once!!!

  • when they get big you should sump them, but when they are small they are great cuc, almost 100% of reef tanks have them with out even knowing, most bristle worms only come out at night and hide very very well in live rock. unless you are planning to smash your rock to pieces before u put it in ur tank, you've no chance of stopping them getting in!!! :) happy new year x

  • how do you get rid of these things?

is it possible to get rid of them before you put the rock into your aquarium??

  • thats just dirty

  • One day that thing is going to flip the lid of your tank open and go on a killing rampage murdering everyone within a 50 mile radius.

  • its actually pretty cool... i mean like it might not be beautiful but it might have a nice heart and be gentle.

  • Um no this is a poisonous sea worm that can permanantly paralize a person and it has two mouth's like alien.

  • You're an idiot. These things are like cholla cacti. The small ones keep reef aquariums clean and beautiful.

  • Yes, but it died slowly.......

  • killl it !!

  • Nice video and worm!

Eunice (family Eunicidae) worms are a group of bristle worms (class Polychaeta). Not all eunicids grow huge, and not all of them are dangerous to other livestock. For those who want more info, google "the large worm turns by ronald shimek", which also talks about fire worms.

  • bobbit worm.

  • No choice, i don't want it either but you can't get em, it hidden inside the rock.......i am waiting for it come out, it already 8 month......it is harmless. Just feed prawn every week, it will come and get it

  • is it a bristle worm or a eunicid worm? i thought mine was a bristle worm, but the people at the store (once i caught it) said it was a eunicid worm, and they can grow to 50 feet

  • I think that is the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. No sarcasm intended.

  • That demon made me throw up. I would get rid of it before you throw up from it and it kill your fish.

You may like it and that is fine; however most people will vomit seeing it crawl around deviously.

  • LOL

  • if i had a gun..i'm sorry would've blasted it...its so disgusting!

  • imagine this thing crawls out of ur aquarium and into your bed! lolz

  • i have to go to sleep after reading your comment. "Honey, im sleeping on the couch to night!"

  • i wouldnt keep that monster anywhere near my fish

  • monstrosity

  • What a cool pet! What do you feed it, though?... I heard about a huge one that was devastating a coral tank in an aquarium-do you just let it eat the coral?

  • Demon...

  • I feel like calling these things aquatic tape

worms. They are so huge and long just like

    a tape worm.

    methodistgirl

  • why wouldn't it.....i think they would...

  • lol ik i bet everyone saw tht barry thing n came here i did lol things r ugly

  • yeah thtats what happenned with me.

  • i heard they have like bristles that can cause permanent numbness to humans.. is this true?

  • LOL i just saw the same story on the aol frontpage - a 4 foot long sea worm named Barry.

My god, the picture freaked me out!

  • yes! lol!

would suck to go scuba diving and this thing brushes against your face. XD

  • @samuraipimpin some species yes, some can bite pretty hard, and some have poisons

  • i would love to see that in my piranhas tank

  • the piranhas wouldnt do shit to it.

  • Disgusting animal

  • fascinating animal

  • @inricheetos your disgusting

  • i would kill it if i were u they damage live rocks and coral like wat BAWCAW said

  • Don't do that, they are the symptom of salt water in you aquarium; if you could not maintain salt water level they will died off very soon! they just like a coral or coco worm.

they are no harm to your coral, rack and fish! i kept one is already 6 month with me!

  • @KyuubiGur I would kill human infants before I kill one of these guys. I would let it crawl into my baby's mouth and out its ass.

  • @SlenderTroll lOl Pro-lifer LoL

  • @AlexiSundukov I love when people stalk me.

  • @SlenderTroll lOl Trolleys.

  • @AlexiSundukov Cocksuckers

  • kill the bastards there a threat to a reef tank, i dont care what anyone says

  • Cool.

  • its like a water centipede!!! the body structure *excluding the crown they grow* is just like a centipedes*except it can breath water*!!

  • you are right, when i first saw it, it scare me! i thought a centipede drop from roof top!! the actual size of the bristle worm is 3 and half metre!! i have put back it to nature hope it will survive......but there still a grandson in my rock........

  • thier not fresh-water so...

  • No worry, there is a place near to sea, peaceful and natural, with rock and coral in our Singapore. But you need to drive half an hour to reach there! this is what i can do for her.....just want her to survive......

  • oh nice!
