  • funny vid :)

  • Log: 14:17

  • @cheeriomartinez

A geocashe is a thing that you can hide stuff in.Geocashing is a sport kind of.You can use an I phone to geocashe or use a geotracker. When you get the coordinates you go and find it.Once you find it you take something and leave something

  • what the hell is a geocache??

  • no

  • What a nice little collection. Thanks for sharing them with us! Brook is really cute, another great find! ;)

  • 14:40 is what you came for. I'll save you the trouble of thinking there is more to this video than a cute chick and southern accents.

  • The video needs editing for length.

  • I kinda just wasted 15 minutes, i really want that logbook. :) (like this comment)

  • Maybe I've been watching too many "homemade" horror movies lately, but I kept waiting for something to happen a-la-hollywood

  • cool nonRoman aqueduct.

  • If you wanna skip the banter and get straight to the "coolest geocache logbook ever" you can safely jump to 14:30

  • ....why the heck did you have to take a 15 minute long video just to show us a logbook?

  • splendid collection

  • can you find old coins in them boxest thing

  • @MrIHateStuff you can find anything in geocaches, but the chances of finding an old coin are pretty slim but there is always that chance

  • @MrIHateStuff A Geocoin is a traceable coin that you DO NOT KEEP but can take pictures with and post your adventure finding the coin on the coins page and then move the coin to another safe cache for the next person to find. There is no profit from Geocaching other then small SWAPS to amuse the children. Adults seem to like the thrill of finding fun and exciting hides, and how many they find in a day. Travel bugs & Geocoins have owners waiting to hear stories of there travels. Hope this helps

  • Great video :)

  • @MrIHateStuff are you a geocacher

  • @MrIHateStuff I received a 1952 Half Dollar(silver) for a FIRST TO FIND prize! Worth about $15

  • The mosquitos were attacking me tyvm...

  • omg.. the typical guy do all the exploring, squatting and bashing at the GZ while partner stand and complain about the ants and mosquitoes.

  • 14:40 for log book

  • You fogot to pool somthing back

  • at which point in this video we can see the coolest logbook???

  • @MannyMamut near the end

  • @MannyMamut 14:49 for everybody else as well!

  • Brooke is Hot!

  • where is number 1 at? i know it is in the smokies, but do you still have the coords.. i have been there before and wanted to go back but did not know which trail it was..

  • Geocaching brings people into the park that otherwise my never go there. And they are hidden out of view, I dont see why they would have a problem with it or call it littering. It brings people out in nature, which is what parks are tyring to promote. Lets direct or energy to something more important. :)

  • I should clarify that they are allowed in NPS parks with permission.

  • @TAZ427COBRA For further clarification, not only are caches allowed in NPS parks, but they have a statement posted on their website about it (which has been updated over the years).

@WCUPride This document also addresses the legality of Virtual Caches in National Parks.

Source: NPS(.gov) website. Search for "gpsguidance" and click on the only result.

(Sorry, YouTube won't allow posted links).

  • geo caches "ARE" ALLOWED IN NATIONAL FORESTS AND ON STATE LANS SHE HAD NO CLUE WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT

  • @giddionkane no, sorry physical traditional caches are not... virtual caches are allowed... anything else is considered littering....

Source: I talked to a wildlife officer that works in the park

  • @WCUPride Actually, only if they are done w/o permission from the park. Good example are Texas State parks which will give you a 1yr permit for placing caches, and you need to renew the permit each year to keep the cache up. If you're not maintaining it they will pull it.

As for the Nationa Park Services, they've been fairly mute on the subject w/o making any statements one way or the other. I think they will only put the hammer down if it becomes an issue. But they see the positives CITO.

  • @WCUPride Their are certainly many geocaches in State and National parks...I think the key is they are *supposed* to be placed only if you get permission first...The state and national parks I have been to in PA all had official permission...so maybe permission was given at the discretion of the person that runs the individual parks? Many operators who learn what geocaching is, become GLAD to put some at their site as another way to draw people to visit.

  • Oh wow - I've been to that mill at the start of your video, and logged the cache. They sell wonderful corn meal ground in the water mill.

    MSalisbury

  • @ All They find it at 8:24 :)

  • is this cherokee or maggie valley?

  • @rsherbon I think we found 3 in this video... the virtual cache is just inside the Smokey Mountain National Forest, the one with the water fountain is in Cherokee, but we were unable to find it when we went, and the cache with the bridge is off the highway 23 headed away from Tenn.

  • The hardest thing to do is to print of instructions and just walk there following th instructions and the map of the place to look and hope for the best because i broke my GPS and im waiting on my new one to be delivered i've only managed to find one this way :/

  • Hey nice vid. Its like 3am right now, and i just discovered geocaching. :-).

  • @lyndon5017 there everywhere.. it can be a lot of fun and doesn't cost much once you have a gps... good luck and have fun!
