It depends who you ask. My preferred fleet fit was 7 425mms 2 swnsor Boosters, tracking computer, 100MN MWD, 2 tracking enhancers, Mag stab, Adaptive nano membrane, damage control and 2 1600 plates. You would use a different setup for solo work. Though Gallante are pretty much the bottom of the pack for PVP these days. However the Mega is one of the most versatile ships out there. You can fit it to do any job on the field.
Can't you set a predetermined course for your ship... like say, at an angle to the enemy ship your firing at or circle the enemy ship? That way you wouldn't have to keep trying to control your ship. Yeah, I guess lag would ruin a good fight.
Well I am kinda on the noob side of Eve you can ofcourse orbit an enemy and set a Distance from Meters to Kilometers to orbit him or you can approch them from a designated distance foo.
They don't stop to shoot really, but when you come out of warp you are at a speed of 0 till you start moving again. Its true that moving laterally makes you harder to hit, yes.
Harder to hit? Try fighting in a battle with hundreds of ships... If you are primary target you are dead, flying doesnt help. The thing that helps is sitting in a tight group so that you are harder to find and so that your friends can repair you. (Most reps are under 10km in distance.
Even if your moving slow at a transversal angle to a ship firing at you - the shot shouldn't be 100% effective. Is this figured into the game? It seems angles are the only saving grace from a shot being 100% effective. Kinda like two ships at sea... shots are more effective at broadside than at angles with deflection and all. Got to admit though, still looks like a pretty kewl game.
i cant really remember.. but the reason transversal speed reduces "accuracy" is because according to the game, the ships turrents can only rotate so fast. this mean certain long range high damage turrents arnt suitable for close range speed frigates, and close range weps arent powerful enough to hit distant things.
Actually I'm pretty Gallante specked but I also really like flying Amarr ships. They have a lot of advantages. In the sequence there I was flying an Armageddon set up to transfer energy to other ships with a few Lasers to help out on the shooting end.
Well we wont win all the time of course. Noone ever does. Were doing to have whelp days and dark days. Losing fights keeps the game fun. We lost 2 towers this morning for example. But yeah since I joined the Goons 2 weeks ago I've been having fun :) And I like their attitude of "Want to come on in a cheap ship well come on and have fun. And if you die laugh about it."

Why do the ships stop to shoot? Wouldn't it be more difficult to be hit if your moving?
Kr4ftw3rk 3 years ago
It is too laggy to control the movment of your ship really
Its best if you have your overview on from a distance and fight through there and target the selected enemy and blast em.

and so you can't warp at as fast right? cuz you'll need to speed up, and probably bounce off your buddies.
logistics ships can rep at a much longer distance, and they don't have to worry about picking enemys to shoot while trying to rep people.
Aegrim 2 years ago
they should move, but difficulty to hit due to movement really only matters when you have super fast small ships

Yes, transversal speed actually even decides if you hit or not :P
