Oh gosh, that was hilarious! I love how so many of them tried to claim the treat for themselves and take off with it somewhere where the others couldn't get it. haha! They're all 'MINE MINE MINE!" that's some funny stuff there. Silly ratties. xD; Def not a good idea to give that as one whole treat to a whole buncha those guys at once. haha.

I think it's mean when owners give rats just ONE thing to eat so they'll fight over it for their own amusement, instead of breaking it into smaller pieces so they can share and enjoy. How would you like it?

Are you daft? This user is obviously an extremely dedicated and devoted rat owner, just look at how amazing the room she has provided her rats with is. Not to mention for all you know after this video was taken she might have broken it up, not that the rats seemed even slightly distressed about having a game of tug-o-war for it. They were probably having fun chasing each other around for it.

@Pookatdino She said herself in the description that it was NOT a good idea. Then why get the camera rolling first? To make a video of them fighting over it. This is something a seven year old would do. I got a rat once, got her home and she gave birth to six babies. A friend gave me a huge cage made out of a dresser and I took care of them. Pets like rats are completely dependent on you for every aspect of their lives. If you want them to do tricks by rewarding them fine, but not this.

@deathfalk Oh no, for 3 minutes of their lives they ran around with a healthy treat. And then afterwords they (mostly rescues taken in by the owner) returned to their amazing environment and a life most rats would dream of. Practically animal abuse, you're right. Why not watch some of the user's other videos of how amazingly she treats the rats and get over yourself.

Wow, that is some serious tug of war they are doing...Rats going everywhere. I gave my rats 2 toilet paper rolls once so they wouldnt fight, but they kept on going back and forth wanting only one for some odd reason.

I only get the healthy nylabones, the ones that are very low protein and low fat. ;)

A normal size litter for rats is 12... but some have been known to have as many as 18+

Normally I don't like seeing Rats or any cute or kind of animal get hurt and I wouldn't think it was cute because its absusive but these guys only got hurt because of their own selfishness and greed so I think they're being really adorable how much they all want one bone all to themselves, like children they just don't know how to share.

It's not likely they could get hurt. Rats are very agile and they don't become aggressive towards each other even if they do have a desirable toy or food.

That one is an intact male, one of my smallest ones. Depending on what you feed your rats, they can become obese which is very different than being a big rat. The white ones in that video are bigger than Simon (black and white) but not by much.

Some people have big females. My Bijou was a big girl and so was Loki but they were always at least a 100 grams less than the males. You can affect how big they'll get if you feed them junk food. ;)But you can't affect their natural body size and what they are meant to fill out too.

All my rats are actually slim. They are smaller than most typical rats, except maybe for a couple. Rats are full grown at about 7 months old. Most rat lovers give too much junk to their rats so they get dangerously obese. Keep your rats slim!!
