Can you suggest a link to a commented python file that contains some sample data and some commented examples like the examples you developed in this talk?
Regarding Dbase III, a really good thing about it was you could build and run the examples really easily. That is what I am looking for to help me understand the App Engine data model... a way to play with it.

Whevever I look at AppEngine, I come away with the impression that Google wants to completely own web application hosting... but that their ambition exceeds the capacity of even their extensive infrastructure. So they limit AppEngine devs to what amounts to Dbase III capabilities, and pitch it as the second coming of Christ.
IMO, while the Emperor may not be completely naked... he's is down to his skivvies.
