Some of the guy that wrestled in ECW were when it was stil Eastern Championship Wrestling, guys like Muraco and Snuka and Johnny Hotbody. I don't remember Hawk being around for the Extreme version of ECW. Must have been earlier?

@respectmyauthority73 The Doink that wrestled in ECW for a very brief time period was actually The Original, Matt Bourne. That same night after being in a squash match vs 911 (also the same night Shane Douglas threw the belt down), Bourne transformed into a dark, more realistic character, no clown gimmick, just him. His new name was "Bourne Again", it was a pretty awesome gimmick but unfortunately he got arrested I believe which killed the whole thing.

My god does this bring back memories. I remember it like yesterday when Shane Dougles threw down the NWA title claiming the NWA was a dead organization. He held up the Eastern Championship Wrestling belt claiming that to be the REAL world title belt. So was born Extreme Championship Wrestling.

The original intro soundtrack is a sample of Nine Inch Nails's intro of the song "Closer" during the logo animation then it cuts to White Zombie's "Thunderkiss '65" during the in ring action clips. The show usually started with some shocking exlpict segment that sometimes when on for ten or more minutes then it would go to the intro reminding you that it's only a show and the reason why these guys are bleeding to death is for the sake of entertaining us.

@Yoshigodguy: Closest Bret came was his match with Terry Funk at Terry Funk's Wrestlefest on September 11, 1997. Davey Boy wrestled in ECW in 1993 and Jim Neidhart wrestled there in 1993 and in 1995. Pillman wrestled one match in 1994.
