Also, I suspect whale meat would be terribly saturated with pollutants....They even advise not to eat shark, catfish etc, because of their size. It means they have been around absorbing pollutants for years and years. Imagine how much a whale has in it....
I think if they are not endangered, then it would probably be better to eat whales...After all its 1 whales life for the food for thousands, rather than a chicken for 5 people. But considering they are endangered they shouldnt be eaten, instead allowed to repopulate. Then everyone can eat them again. So long as a certain population is maintained.

In fact, a good 70% of them disagree w. it, and 95% of them have never eaten whale, or at least have in the past and stopped because they realize it's wrong. But we never hear these people because they are silenced by the one-sided media. I'm sure the sea shephard would be glad to know they have some Japanese supporters on their side.
There does seem to be a lot of anger towards the Japanese people for whaling when other nations such as Norway are just as active.
Humans' search for ever more food and fuel has consequences such as over whaling, destroying rain forests and the great apes, and overfishing species to extinction.

Whale meat is a delicacy. The japanese are NOT doing this for survival.
Whale meat sells for $64. per pound. So one Minke of 6 tons would make the whalers $768,000...
unless the meat is discovered to have high levels of mercury in it, then the heroes of Japan generously donate those batches to schools, to serve as lunches because they can't sell it.
The batches they do keep (and don't get SOLD) go bad in a warehouse and get dumped. Then they go out hunting for re-stock

You should research some facts because environmental groups depend on a deep ignorance of the public while they feed you with superficial facts. I think people should be more worried about dolphin meat as mercury levels are extremely high in their flesh compared to the minke whales that are hunted in the Antarctic.

How insane is it that dolphin meat has high levels of mercury, cadmium, DDT and PCBs yet these nutters eat it? They even use it for free school lunch meat. Norway is farther away & may actually go to war over this. There is also the little matter that the Japanese whalers try to make a living off of the same animals that the Australians sell tourists tickets to see. So the Ausies are acting like they're the only ones with a right to these animals. That just isn't how they phrase it.

This year the spend had already risen from an annual figure of between $5 and $6 billion to $7 billion but the govt decided as oil and gas were bringing in good money to up it further by another $63 million. Their military strength small (69 to 83k) personnel (compared with 391k Finland and 451k Germany) they must be bloody well equipped!!

In fact, a good 70% of them disagree w. it, and 95% of them have never eaten whale, or at least have in the past and stopped because they realize it's wrong. But we never hear these people because they are silenced by the one-sided media. I'm sure the sea shephard would be glad to know they have some Japanese supporters on their side.

Humans' search for ever more food and fuel has consequences such as over whaling, destroying rain forests and the great apes, and overfishing species to extinction.
