  • YES! A snatch as it should be performed! Way too many do a semi-swing or even a clean-press-ish something. Way to go - looks great!

  • um, I seriously doubt that is 60lbs. There is a video of a Female powerlifter Kara Bohigian snatching 60lbs for 1 rep. Didn't look like she had much in her either. I'm sorry but I have a hard time buying this video. If its really 60lbs mad props to you though.

  • This exercise is pretty easy-I really don't know what it did for me after doing it for a year.  If you want to improve hip power, you're better off squatting and deadlifting

  • you obviously were not consistent, or the form was not good... or or or ...

    I have progressed to 100 lbs any hand, 120 lbs rhs only, ground-up and not hang.

    The effect on training the core, legs,arms, shoulder and the training for overall snatch/ "jerk strength" cannot be overestimated.

    This is a "T-REX" class of workouts.

  • So, squat and deadlift improve EXPLOSIVE strength in the hips? Interesting.

    Explosive movements like this are far superior to squats and deadlifts for most sports.

  • I think that looks good. The weight travels straight up and down, there is a real jerk/explosion at the start of the lift to generate power, and she gets her butt down and gets under the weight--actually snatches it. Now I am embaressed though cuz I'm only doing sets of 85lbs and I'm a pretty strong guy.

  • When I first attempted my max in this exercise I did 50 kilos - it;s not that hard actually - and believe me, you will fall in love with this type of listing - I don't do any of this slo-mo Weider's B-B crap they advice people to do at the gym - that ain't real lifting.
