@industrialfun Personally i judge them based on my own (and few) interactions with them. And they do tend to be power crazy idiots who think they are above the very law they are supposed to uphold. Hypocrisy should be a crime, the filth are a necessary evil, sure, but are fundamentally far more a part of the problem than solution.
@MrAshwUK perhaps you should broaden your interactions with them and look at some of the other work they do. I the past I have worked with charities dealing with children who have been victims of abuse and all the police I worked with there were tireless professionals in a difficult and thankless role. As were the police who pulled my girlfriend out of the wreckage of her car a few years back at great risk to themselves. Public order is 0.01% of police work, you have to look at the big picture.

Hypocrisy should be a crime, the filth are a necessary evil, sure, but are fundamentally far more a part of the problem than solution.

@MrAshwUK perhaps you should broaden your interactions with them and look at some of the other work they do. I the past I have worked with charities dealing with children who have been victims of abuse and all the police I worked with there were tireless professionals in a difficult and thankless role. As were the police who pulled my girlfriend out of the wreckage of her car a few years back at great risk to themselves. Public order is 0.01% of police work, you have to look at the big picture.

Police are regarded as officers because they 'hold the office of constable'. And the crown protects the realm - The Army, Navy, Police, Fire are all part of that setup. A great example of how we should carry ourselves peacefully. It's a shame that the man hiding in the fluorescent police officer container is so used to living in fear that was all he was able to draw upon in this situation. The other uniformed humans managed a lot better.
