Lol this game is far far better then OPF2 the only thing OPF2 is better at is the SP and the Graphics but the SP still sucks because theres no free map its a 2x2 mile fighting area where ArmA 2 is a free map where there is a 225/km by 225/km map and ArmA 2 has JIP for multiplayer

There was some disagreements between the two companies, so they split up.

According to the contract between the two companies, Codemasters got the right for the "Operation Flashpoint" name, while Bohemia got the exclusive right to develop all sequels.

According to an attorney, Bohemia would win a trial. Still hoping Bohemia is going to court with this.

Bohemia had to use a new name to develop the sequel.

this looks WAY too much like arma 1. explosions, faces and death animations are identical, this looks like the same old arma 1 engine with shiny graphics and motion blur.

guess its ofp2 for me, besides the whole cold war scenario is getting stale, having the chinese is quite refreshing

why? becouse they are not vital to the gameplay..

so it´s likely that thy will change that too before the game is released...

if not, there are always someone making an effects addon that changes them ;)

There are many things to indicate a white wash over arma2. The fact that more technology has been used is the main one, Image metrics for example. The previous version to this game was awful, not saying that this will be aswell but this video down't prove anything otherwise.

ArmA 2 is set in the year 2009, in a fictional post-Soviet country called Chernarus (literally "Black Russia", a play on Belarus (Беларусь) which means "White Russia").

The geographical data is a part of the Czech Republic, so no it's not Georgia.

Chernarus is fictional and anyway, Georgia has a Western coast and an Eastern land border, not the other way round like Chernarus.
