At 4:00 - THAT is the sound I was trying to find out about. He says it's not really chugging... I thought that was some kind of chord, but it's more of a sound. It really comes out in Electric Red, Lethargica, and a few other tunes on Obzen. It rules! I actually want speakers that make that low rumble jump out.
Didn't they ditch the Iceman models because they didn't sound right or something because Marten said apparently they sounded shit through the monitors or something like that?
@k5ita I couldnt even if I wanted too but what I did was buy an ibajez rga8 and buy an Iceman body from warmoth (yes they do make 8 string bodies) so I also ordered a lundgren m8 pickup then i slapped the electronics in. Bolted on the neck and I'm good to go. But the prob was that it had dot inlays but what ever so then I melted my hand trying to learn bleed on the videosvideos
to all thats none to the wiser what they r saying their 8 strings are only a standard 6 string tuned guitar with a 7th half step down and an 8th bass string nothing special
The two lowest strings are good for single-note riffing, but with all that saturated distortion, chords just sound muddy and the individual notes bleed into each other.
@fingerboy18 Well, for this whole they were not using their normal gear. They simply had their guitars running into the Amps that Guitar World has sitting in their office for lessons like this. Otherwise, they run their guitars into Line 6POD X3 Rack units, then Line 6 Vetta II amp heads. After that, I know Fredrick runs the signal to whatever the PA is where they are playing, and i believe that Marten uses Line 6 cabs Not positive, though.
