Both will do damn near the same thing off road. The difference is fixing the jeep doesn't doesn't require a second mortgage. I've replaced my entire front axel for less than $400. That parts, labor, everything.

A Off-road vehicle like a Jeep has a built-in roll-cage, removable top/ doors, plastic fender extensions, solid axles front and rear, folding front windshield frame, a easily removable carpet with drain plugs in the floor boards and is no more than 3300 lbs with all the bells and whistles attached. It is not a total loss in a slow roll.Even the body is easily replaceable and relatively inexpensive.
