We simply disagree. I think if something is illegal then, by definition, it has to be wrong. I take full responsibility for jaywalking and swearing in public. If someone wants to try and convict me for it, that's their right.
Putting GPS tracking on everyone is wrong! You may be doing something that is borderline illegal, and someday they may want to throw you in prison for it. And just because something is illegal dosen't make it wrong. I've done a few minor illegal things; jaywalking, littering, swearing in public, etc.. We don't need bigbrother to monitor people for civil disobedience and other minor crimes.
not all convictions will be monitored. This is for new sex offenders that are just registering and with this law the age difference will be 7 years as oppose to megans law(current law) of 10 years. I say we brand these sex offenders for life. What they do to minors are not misdemeanors and should not be treated as one. Getting caught with child porn before would be charged the same as someone driving without a license. that is ridiculous.
It does not put GPS on old men in wheelchairs that committed crimes in 1966. If a 19-year-old wants to fuck a 15-year-old, he should find one who won't tell her parents. There are plenty of them out there.
Regardless, what's wrong with putting GPS on everyone? If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide.
If you want to be against this proposition, it has to be because they haven't said how they will pay for it. That's a legitimate concern.
What!! Next thing you know they are going to put GPS on everyone. This prop. puts GPS on ALL offenders forever. Old men in wheel chairs that comitted a crime 40 years ago. 19 year old males who happen to have had a 15 year old girlfriend. Next, GPS on all drug offenders because you know they might commit crime to support their habbit. If we put GPS on hardend criminals just out of prison, for a probationary period, that would be ok.
It will not have a gps device on 19 year old males that have a 15 yr old girlfriend. The age difference has to be at least 10 years. Where are your facts?
I am not a lawyer and haven't read the actual proposition. From what i understand it is like Meagans Law, all convictions can be monitored. California Penal Code 261.5 states that anyone who is 3 years older than their "victim" can be tried as a felony. Otherwise any adult having sex with a minor is a misdemeanor and is still considered statutory rape. I like the idea of monitoring "true" criminals. I have seen good people be labled criminals and then they turn to a life of crime.
Yep. The Panthers rule!
