Raginrednekk - are those Smithy's cores louvered or perforated. And if louvered do you have the opening of the louvers positioned towards the engine or towards the tailpipes? Sounds real good
The cores are 6 rows of louvers, and if I remember right, there's an embossed "inlet" on one end. If not, no big deal, just make sure you point the opening of the louvers toward the tailpipes. Otherwise, you'll gainn a wierd sounding drone in your exhaust note, as well as a lack of performance, due to introducing turbulence to your exhaust pulses, which increase backpressure to a level beyond factory parameters. Nothing dangerous, just power robbing.
Before I install any glasspack, I pour gasoline (didn't have any Kerosene) in the muffler bodies, through the outlet. That way, the fuel flows through the louvers, straight into the packing. I pour 6-8 ounces of fuel in, and slowly rotate the body, so the fuel soaks most of, if not all of the packing. Then, get a torch(strong flame, with extended reach), and ignite the fuel. May take a couple of lights, to get the flame to stay lit, but about 30 minutes later, you have a burnt out muffler.
those mufflers sound pretty cool

They are indeed Smithy's, from Patriot exhaust, and I used 22" mufflers.

raginrednekk - one other question, what is the state of the glass packing in your Smithy's, did you burn or blow them out or
is the packing untouched with a lot of miles or few miles on?
