  • Surely this is earlier than '97? They're talking about Hard To Earn and Jazzmatazz vol. 2 they were released in '94 and '95, and they also showed the Just To Get A Rep video which was in like '90-91. I'd say this was in late '93.

  • even when he talks, it sounds like hes rapping

  • just to get a rep was classic, and that type of stuff happens in real life, classic------------------->X.

  • Guru haha "The Album is....Booty"

  • You guys are amazing..you all are saying what I'm thinking and feeling. I guess it's true that all great minds think alike.lol..I'm so sick of this so called new school bullshit. I wish we could all come up with a plan to assasinate these bullshit ass rappers. Just kidding..sort of.LMAO

  • Rest in peace Guru!

  • ..or they come out with one dope song and the album is booty LOL. also the just to get a rep video deserves a grammy or sumthin..true classic

  • shugs moustache is filthy hahaha

  • the guru's show in montreal last year was just so dope, the buddy still got skillz

    maddddd props

  • i would've loved to see that

  • it feels so good to hear such a REAL discourse about what you have to do to succeed.

    plan>work>succeed. simple as that!

and they even take the time to say that one can fail!

this should be playing continually on TV, instead of all the shit we're fed.

  • guru the best rapper ever better than 2pac even

  • Very true.

  • ye true for real he is far awey better than 2pac

  • guru the best rapper you cant compare 2 pac to guru .....gurus knowledge is to strong for phony rappers like the ones now a days

  • They talk about working hard, not taking shortcuts and just getting your demo out everywhere, because if you have skills you'll get the deal.

With the tracks that are popular today, obviously it doesn't work like that anymore. :(

  • rohleks u say it man...

    damn

  • i loved rap when it was positive and progressive sharing knowledge all rappers now is brag about bitches and money

  • dj premier is classic in the warm up jacket with the hood up and a hat

  • timeless

  • this video is nice

  • JUST CLASSIC

  • it's 1994 not 97

  • lorna, much love 2 you for put up these old interviews, all of them are dope.

  • Super classic right there, the Gifted, Unlimited, Rhymes Universal! It's all about Gang Starr

    Very nice upload!

  • It's a game. Just like you can football (soccer) and basketball freestylers, the important thing is being able to do it in a game situation without sacrificing the skill and artistry. For those that knock hip-hop, Shug's comments show exactly how it relates to decent values of determination and having the courage of your convictions - hip-hop is for everyone. When people do well, it's cos they worked dam hard. It's just a shame Gang Starr are seemingly over.

  • This video is og!

  • the gifted prolific one

  • Right. They feel tha rap music in their souls an' they are a family...Gangstarr family.Ooh...an' nice old school video out there.
