  • I want Lord Worm back I rather have The Book Of Suffering instead of The Unspoken King

  • Ok he's a nice guy but he says he doesn't listen or like hardcore but yet his bocals sound like gay hardcore vocals and have clean vocals.

  • Lord Worm is an English professor and Matt is a pre school teacher, hmmm

  • We were not anticipating the next None so Vile, we where just anticipating a good album.

  • this dude is so honest. Love how he doesn't fake for the front at all. +1

  • Matt is a really cool guy

  • @eNnI088 yes, very cool! He's even cooler when he's mocking the old Cryptopsy fans.

  • no shit,,,top 200 maybe,,

  • its not about waiting a none so vile, its about getting fucked in the anus by a fucking screamo singer

  • one thing i appreciate about this interview is, he's one of the few lead vocalist who doesnt say "like" a thousand times in a sentence

  • @TheFamiliarSound wow! big deal.

  • @mystersamuel apparently you thought it was since you took the time to leave this comment

  • @TheFamiliarSound for sure, buddy. ;) we could have a linguistic discussion about the repetition of the term "like" or "I mean" or "you know" XD in metal interviews... bl

    Regards!

  • @mystersamuel haha your funny. i like dudes like you who are determined to prove how big your dick is on youtube. you should try chat roulette, its full of friends you can make

  • Their recent album, I don't have anything against the vocal style, it just doesn't fit what Cryptopsy is. Cryptopsy tended to to have an eerie characteristic to their albums, hence the name Cryptopsy. Musically it was an okay album. Plus, "Once Was Not" had more of a variability in musical influence than the "The Unspoken King" did. Either way I don't like their new vocalist, just the way he looks. Just my childish opinion on that last one.

  • haha hes such a douchebag.

  • wormy? who the fuck does he think he is?how dare he talk of lord worm like that.once was not fucking rules!

  • "i love your new album by the way"-you can smell that hypocrisy through your computer screen

  • ....ahhh,stop being so nice you douche...haha...don't like his vocals but oh well

  • i really dont like the new cryptopsy. dont like the new vocals but seeing this interview matt seems not to be an utter cunt like i thought he would be lol

  • 0:48 says it all doesnt it ,,,

  • I love Death metal Cryptopsy, and I love The new Cryptopsy. Lock me up and throw away the key!

  • warm is a god mat is ok

  • As much as I think the new album was sell-out scene kid garbage, I'm not gonna wish death upon the man. Those sorta things are reserved for REAL assholes like Oli Sykes :)

I don't expect them to re-create NSV, but atleast make something that sounds somewhat original.

  • Scene/emo idiots vs. fake metalhead idiots. This is getting old people seriously.

The new album wasn't that bad. The writing seemed sloppy and kind of last minute and Matt's vocals are realy talented but un-original. He has potentiol and im interested in seeing what he does with it. The preformances however seemed alot cleaner and better played than Once was Not. Unspoken king is decent, but I think the next album will be far supierier. Who knows, they may make another none so vile.

  • yeah i fucking hate the new album but after watching this i dont hate this guy so much any more now i know that cryptopsy had allready written the new album and told him what to do. he seems like an allright person but i still cant stand his vocals or the unspoken king, or 3 mile scream or anything that sounds remotley like that faggotcore that cryptopsy now are.

  • YOU ARE AN IMPOSTOR. Bahahaha! Oh how I hate the metal SCENE and all the fat, hairy, close minded fuckheads in it. Respect to this dude, seems like a very nice guy.

  • Agree with you man people take things too serious, and like he said it is just music I didn't like the album, but I think they have the right to do whatever they want. they are humans and they make mistakes like all of us and all those people who bash then

  • he actually seem like a very nice person.

but sure I miss LOR WORM...

  • Its all about Blasphemy Made Flesh and None So Vile. Thats Cryptopsy.

  • he was better in 3miles scream

  • some of the things this guy said seemed pretty valid. although the statement about the death metal scene not progressing together was bullshit. yes it may be a bit of a competition to some but these days barely any death metalers are that arrogant. and the metal scene has changed completely since the early 90s metal which is pretty self evident. i mean technical death metal reaches whole new peaks these days, of course metal is progressing as a unit...

on a side note that interviewer was gay as

  • atleast he's honest, he seems like a pretty cool dude

I still prefer None So Vile over anything they've ever done

  • You know, I may have openly bashed the guy ever since The Unspoken King came out. Being particularly critical of Matt's vocals.

But upon seeing this interview, I like him. He seems to have the right attitude for a Death Metal band, and he seems pretty cool.

I'm thinking that because of the backlash when The Unspoken King was released, they'll make an album somewhat like Once Was Not. A combination of old and new.

Which wouldn't be so bad, when you think about it.

  • If ONLY htye made that double album with Lord Worm. Man that would have been so fucking good. Good things never last, and there will never be another None So Vile.

  • his a nice dude, maybe too nice image for the band. still good voice, but not the right way to use it.

  • This guy can scream like a motherfucka. He has some of the most perfect highs.

  • That guy rules, what he said made total sense to me, especially about the death metal scene! I CAN EAT THEM!!

  • WHERE LORD WORM GODDAMNIT FUCK HIM

  • i'd be so self consious if someone was interviewing me right there on the street : /

  • Fuck him, Once was not was a great fucking album. Maybe not as good as None so vile, but it beats the shit out The Unspoken King.

  • i still love cryptopsy!

  • Reminds me of a past history teacher I had.

  • I think real fans of Cryptopsy will adjust with the music.

I don't like the fact that the drums KINDA drown out the guitars.

But The Unspoken King was great.

  • Cryptopsy is still good but they will never be the same without the GOD LORD WORM!

  • Lord worm may be legendary and contributed a lot to the brutal death growl. In the studio, his vocals were cool, but his live performances during the Once Was Not era sucked...

Mike DiSalvio and Martin Lacroix were way more solid live! And so is the new dude, even if I don't like the fact that he cups the mic.

  • They haven't change drummer, fuck head.

  • you don`t even know shit about cryptopsy man!!!

  • For all of you commenting on how much Cryptopsy has "CHANGED" I'll give you that prevous albums were amazing, but Lord Worm had very, indeciferable vocal style,Mike Desalvo was a little more hXc exque, and Martin Lacroix was not able to write good lyrics, but at least Matt can do the extremely low, Lord Worm style, and the more hXc style of Mike Desalvo,as well as he can sing. Why not encourage a band to expand in their sound instead of being such fags and thinking they should stay the same forever.

  • Haha, every Cryptopsy album, from their debut to the latest one, is different. But there's a difference between good changes and bad changes. The Unspoken King is bad, really bad. They've never stayed the same, but honestly, I'd like to hear something that doesn't sound generic like The Unspoken King.

  • The new stuff is nothing compared to the old.

  • I love that everyone is pissed at this guy. Matt seems like a really cool guy. THE BAND wrote the entire album before they even approached this guy. He was fuckin awesome live, saw him in Prague. And if the new album has somehow shattered your world and broken your very soul, you're not getting laid enough bother.. Have some fucking faith people. It's their NEXT album that counts. I say good luck boys, show these tits/assbags the light.

  • Yep, I agree.

  • EXACTLY! he destroyed live, he had so much energy. Matt is awesome man he was such a cool guy and no one else in the band had an ego or anything. hehe matt says hes not hardcore but everyone says that he inhails but waking the cadaver dosent. he takes care of children for god sakes

  • @blackirish00 We're recording 3 new songs right now! Hope you'll like it!

  • Lord worm was good, but thats over now. This guy is obviously a very cool dude, so I say good luck.

  • @mentalalex no, he sounds like a fucking little pussy, and in the back of his mind HES KNOWS he isnt rite for cryptopsy,

  • The interviewer lied when he said the new album is his top 5 of the year!!!

  • No lies. The album rips harder than anything they have done in 10 years if not more. It fuses death, grind, rock, jazz, and hardcore better than any of these young bands claiming throne to the death fusion crown. Clean out your ears buddy.

  • Amen to that. I mean, god forbid a bunch of talented musicians take a chance and inject a bit of variety into an area of music that's all too often occupied by boring talentless acts who play it safe and paint by the numbers.

  • You guys are acting like it's the first time we've seen anything but straight death/black around these parts. The album's different, but it's not like Miles Davis and Glen Benton and passionate buttsex and created some excellent new genre. It's a calculated yet small foray outside of the confines of the genre. Yay for them, I'm glad they're done with Lord Worm, and I think the shit Cryptopsy's getting over Matt McGachy is stupid as fuck, but christ, they aren't Pestilence.

  • Well of course they're not Pestilence, which is precisely why he said "anything THEY have done in the past 10 years", drawing comparison to their other efforts from recent years, as opposed to simply comparing the album to every disc by every other forward-thinking band within the genre.

  • Well, yeah, if a change in style is what suited Cryptopsy, they're entitled to it. In particular, I was referring to the comment about being a better *-metal group than any new bands, which I disagree with. I still like the album, but the shift to deathcore does less for innovation than you'd think. As for jazz, I'm off to clean out my ears, since obviously there's some major buildup preventing me from discovering the ground-breaking fusion record within.

  • Well yeah, but then Cryptopsy don't necessarily need to pioneer a specific area within the genre indefinitely do they, seeing as they've spent many years doing that in the past. After all, what you or I might consider to be a step backward, others might consider a step forward. It all depends on our perception of what is and isn't "progression" at the end of the day.

  • hell yes, totaly agree with you man.

  • @hardtimesdotca It would be great if they could have blended all those genres together CORRECTLY. It turned out to be crap.

  • @hardtimesdotca Once Was Not shits all over Unspoken King.

  • @HoracioAmiritoDiaz Everything shits all over The Unspoken King!

  • @guitaristmetal yeah top 5 in the "THIS ALBUM SUCKS MAJOR COCK" list,

  • WHAT A FAG!!!!!

  • I hate cool people who like terrible music.

And it's NOT just music... Commercialism sucks.

  • Well shucks, it kinda IS just music at the end of the day.

People need to lighten the fuck up already.

  • You really ask great questions.
