VFX made a video, I'm sure you'll remember that Joker thing, where he claimed to be able to counter sue or something to that feel over an issue of 'blackmail' though while certainly an ultimatum, he wasn't being forced to do anything at all, he was allowed an option outside of legal action, or outside of deleting his account. Too bad he's got the emotional maturity of a five year old and responded as he did.
what you said just after 2:00, that "the copyright is now owned by youtube and youtube gives others the right to do whatever" is total and completely wrong.

He sounds like British midlands. Some things sound like he's from Manchester, others sound like from the south. I'd bet it's south, maybe kent or something.

Sweet, what's my prize lol. I'm from newcastle, so although I don't normally speak with an accent, I have the capacity to speak with a geordie accent, also known as utter gibberish lol
Shawn probably doesn't care what a burden he is on his Jew parents. if he wew my brother, my mom would have smacked sense into him long ago.
he's only 3 years older than me, but I still think he deserves a spanking, be it from Thunderf00t in lieu of his parent's apparent leniency. If he lived here in the south, I promice U he would have had bruises on his ass.
"What legal action could Thunderf00t have taken against VFX"
Most likely a civil case where VFX would have an injunction taken against him (plus having to pay his own attourney's fees as well as the fees of TF00t as well as compensation for filing DMCA). If he broke injunction then criminal proceedings would be the consequence.
Hi. Someone please respond because I am unclear...
What legal action could Thunderf00t have taken against VFX that would be so bad that he would elect to take the route of a public apology and/or a year off of YouTube?
How is it that Thunderf00t has the upper hand now? I'm curious because I really don't know.
If Shaun made false claims, wouldn't it just be dropped by the DMCA as though he had nothing to stand on? How have the tables been reversed now. Thanks for any feedback.
"What legal action could Thunderf00t have taken against VFX"
VFX has been FORCED to read a prepared statement forcing him to retract a number of his comments and would stand testament to other people considering using the DMCA for their own nefarious uses that it is simply not worth it.
Further TF00t has the moral upper ground by showing "Christian" virtues of mercy and fair and just punishment.
False DMCA claims, under the act, is a federal offense. People have been dragged off for less.
Ok, thank you very much for your response and insight. I had no idea about the extent of the legal consequences that are involved in a case like this. Thank you for helping to clear it up for me.
It was good that VFX fought to stay on youtube because now at least a compromise has been found between the two and he gets to keep his channel. A lot of you probably dislike this prospect, but hey, I think he's changed, and I think this experience has made him humble to free speech. I don't believe in grudges.
On the flip side of that it is good that TF00t did not pursue him to the letter of the law, must mean that some Atheists do have a heart after all. I am sure VFX was surprised by the mercy, with it being a Christian trait and all.
I am glad that VFX is remaining. Like I have said before he's mildly entertaining and no doubt will offer some comedic gold for the future.
I love your accent. Did you say you were British? You sound different from most of the British people I've talked to (granted I know there's a different dialect for the middle class and upper class)
It is not that people have no life to quibble online. P.S. Stop making fun of his British Accent...what are you 5?
I think VFX should stick to his guns. Honestly, I think this squabble is more of a distraction from the real issue of the faulty & fallible system that Youtube has laid out for copyright claims. Your friend didn't have the position to, as Nigrescnece put, give youtube the license for those videos. Only Viacom has that right. VFX gave HIS own license to youtube when he became a member and uploaded HIS OWN content.
But, as I stated before, that would be utterly stupid as it's free marketing for them and their shows. Viacom killed, in part, free marketing for themselves.
"suckling at the parental teats" brought me up short.
My own parents had four children by age 23/4. Both worked, one on nights. Me and my siblings were in full-time work at 15 & 16. College might've been preferable, but there was no feeling that we couldn't understand the consequences of our actions or weren't really responsible for them.
Yet many say tf00t should make allowances for VFX's age. Is this cultural, generational, geographical, socioeconomic - what? How long IS childhood now?
Childhood (Re: Criminality) is getting younger. Financial Independence appears to be getting longer especially if they are going to college/university. As such at 23 it is highly unlikely that VenomFangX has the resources to afford the home/TV/Toys he often displays in his video.
Legal recompense is likely to come from his parents if they wish to avoid a criminal record for VFX, but I guess they could just let him roast in his own juices. That would be the final kick in the nuts.
When parents finally face up to the fact that their child is (pick a problem: addict, violent, whatever) there eventually comes a point where they realise that their efforts to help or mitigate it only exacerbates it (bailing the drunkard son out of jail again etc). They STILL carry on doing it because it breaks their heart not to. Eventually a stage can come where they make the hardest decision. It's the last-resort effort to enable change - reality-check, rite-of-passage, tough-love...
On the financial dependence thing - guess it CAN prolong emotional immaturity. But I think it tends to only exaggerate what's there already, rather than cause it.
I do know well-off kids who are fully engaged with the world on their own behalf, and while it's natural for them to have their education etc funded, or get a loan from Dad to start a business, they'd die of embarrassment rather than have mum & dad "fix" their mistakes in life for them.
We are talking about VenomFangX here, just refer to some of my previous videos as to the world view he possesses. It is obvious, I think, that his grip on the realities of the world aren't what they should be. He is not the brightest example of and for youth and is not a posterboy for them either.
Oh, I know the world view he possesses - I knew it by the time I'd watched two minutes of one of his everyday vids. Oncde you've had a run in with one, any more you meet are fucking transparent. The amazing thing is how people CAN'T see their rampaging, predatory falsity.
Guess I was talking from his parents' point of view. They have probably had to clean up his messes many times by now, and they have probably got more expensive as he's got older.
My favourite line : Grown-up actions are now in progress.
Your intuition that Mommy and Daddy may not know about this - you've probably put your finger on something.
Still, he IS an adult. As an adult, he's free to pay for whatever lawyer HE can afford, &/or ask his "ministry" for donations or (if it's criminal) get court-appointed representation. Like any other adult.
His parents won't lose the house or anything unless they decide to.
I have removed a thread of discussion which gave RL information on Thunderfoots place of work! I have screen shotted the information, so the discussion is not lost, but I do question the wisdom of giving information out that Creationists can use to find TFoot.
I hope you understand why I had to remove that information.
And I have to admit that I was partially responsible for this thread (though I wasn't the one who gave out the RL information, I asked a question that resulted in this being given out.)
I really hate to see the record altered, but this is an unusual situation.
My only major point of disagreement with this video is that VFX's parents will suffer economically because of this. They are under no legal obligations to pay his legal bills of the fine that he will have to pay.
Of course, maybe they will foot the bill anyway. If they want to throw their money at a hopeless cause then that is their decision.
If VFX can't pay attourneys fees minus any compensation how would VFX pay for this in lieu of prison time?
I admit that I am assuming that his parents would mitigate some of the consequence, and I feel VFX expects this too. Looking at some of his videos it appears his family is not exactly scrimping on the old cash. But assumption has a tendancy to kick you in the arse.
"my only disagreement..is that VFX's parents will suffer economically"
Yep, he's an adult and so are they. I think they probably understand their son by now and, though it'll come as a shock, they probably ceased being surprised long ago.
When they do find out, they even might hope that letting him take the consequences of his own provocative actions this time will be a lesson to him.
VFX is an adult. His parents won't suffer jack shit. The entire burden falls on the cretin. (Parents could assist, but need not.) Crush the fucktard. NOW!
Great vid, as usual. I don't actually want venom to go away, not because I like him, but he is a convenient example of creationist bullshit, and we'll all be losing a wonderful instrument of ridicule when he's gone. The idea of him having to accept legal consequences for his behavior is quite amusing, though.
Argh, Viacom strikes again! Why do they have to own Paramount? Paramount of all things! Curses!
Good video, unfortunately Venom will probably use as his defence the same reason he won't listen to you, he's got a few screws loose, courtesy of Jesus.
Yeah I think it is also a civil court matter. Criminal court would be a disproportionate action. I am not certain though but won't civil court proceedings give a criminal record?
The fines and a criminal record will not be good news for VFX when he goes looking for work.
Well, Tf00t will bring it to civil court. However, once it is determined that VFX issued a false DMCA, then it will be the DMCA who can pursue criminal charges. I don't think they will, but considering his absurd public lies on the subject, they might. I think that VFX has only been making the situation worse for himself with every vid.

He is not the brightest example of and for youth and is not a posterboy for them either.
corvardus 3 years ago

Guys, Guys.
I have removed a thread of discussion which gave RL information on Thunderfoots place of work! I have screen shotted the information, so the discussion is not lost, but I do question the wisdom of giving information out that Creationists can use to find TFoot.
I hope you understand why I had to remove that information.
corvardus 3 years ago
And I have to admit that I was partially responsible for this thread (though I wasn't the one who gave out the RL information, I asked a question that resulted in this being given out.)
I really hate to see the record altered, but this is an unusual situation.
I appreciate your removal of that thread. Thanks!

I think PCS's parents will bail him out. They just won't be very happy with him.
Time's running out, that's for sure.
Tick Tock

I can't wait to see the headlines about VFX's conviction. LOL, I can see him in prison -- you're in here for WHAT?! Bend ovah boah!
ChuckyJesus666 3 years ago
I think it's going to civil court, not criminal court. So the best we can hope for is to see Thunderf00t wiping his arse with VFX's money.
ThetaOmega 3 years ago 8
Yeah I think it is also a civil court matter. Criminal court would be a disproportionate action. I am not certain though but won't civil court proceedings give a criminal record?
The fines and a criminal record will not be good news for VFX when he goes looking for work.
corvardus 3 years ago
Shame we can't see him together with his lord, Kent Hovind in the same cell though.
2timmy4u 3 years ago
Well, Tf00t will bring it to civil court. However, once it is determined that VFX issued a false DMCA, then it will be the DMCA who can pursue criminal charges. I don't think they will, but considering his absurd public lies on the subject, they might. I think that VFX has only been making the situation worse for himself with every vid.
