I like the approach to home schooling. I'm a rocked out chick who home schools my kids in a secular way. When others criticize homeschooling they usually state comments against Christian Fundamentalists which I'm not. Awesome project. To all the other comments, take it easy on the the kid. If someone pulled out a project you did at that age I'm sure it wouldn't be completely accurate either.
Interesting. You are for nothing but against ppl who are against your ideas. I know your parents are the one's who are responsible for this hate video. So tell me what you are for (be positive) and not what you are against (negative).
Parker, you should know that governments like the old Russia would have killed homosexuals and/or have given them no rights or respect. Count your blessing if you are living in a society where you can create your own destiny and live as you choose (gay or not). There was no freedom in old Russia. You never could have made this video in the old Russia--you would have been put in jail or killed.
The opposite of capitalism would be "statism" (communism, socialism, theocracy, fascism, military dictatorships, welfare state) in which the government/state has all the power at the sacrifice of individual freedoms. Depending on your point of view, the tradeoff may or may not be worth it.
actually in socialism, the state does not have all the power and freedoms aren't necessarily sacrificed. They are taxed a hell of a lot, if you consider that an infringement of freedom, but they elect their government etc. They have services that are provided universally (health care, education including university, etc) which often tend to be much more efficient and effective than capitalist models (see Michael Moore's "Sicko", documentary). Great video by the way!
The social services offered by socialist countries - health care, university, etc., may on some level be more "efficient" at spreading the socialist propaganda, but they are definitely not better than we have in the U.S. - hence the reason you never hear of anyone dreaming they could go to university in Cuba or Sweden. I put no stock in Michael Moore's documentaries. He never lets the truth get in the way when he makes his videos. He's a jackass with a camera.
True Michael Moore does tend to stretch the truth seemingly often. But I'm living in Canada, and I could NEVER imagine living without universal health care. And I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I don't believe that if you have more money you should be treated first (ie private clinics popping up in Canada now). That is to say I believe that a poor person with a life-threatening condition should always take priority over a rich guy who needs a couple stitches. But hey, thats just me.
No offense taken. I'm glad you are satisfied with your medical care. Rich guys needing stitches don't take priority over poor people with life-threatening illnesses here. Capitalism isn't our problem. It's insurance companies who have gained so much power because of managed care (HMO's, PPO's, etc.)and keep raising their premiums and paying for as little as they can. BTW, I worked with 4 doctors who were from Canada but studied and chose to practice here.

This absolutely made my night.
This is what kids need to be learning in school, whether it's private, public, or home. Parker...you're getting a real education.
P.S, another big one Alix Olson doesn't like: racism. :)
