That's uptown. Great footage. (: I live in Andergrove so it was hard to get up to that part of Mackay. I haven't seen nay footage of the main town part, a couple of them shops are still closed down, and the floods were 3 months ago :S

im still shocked and its like a month ago lol my friends house was under water at her waist and her car was fully underwater! she lived next to a ponds in glenella =[ i feel so sorry! the water went all through her house she lost everything!! our house didnt get so bad though we lived in north view gardens!!

OMG! I saw three of my old houses just completely flooded - Schaefer st and on Nebo Road. I didn't realise it was this bad - thank you so much for taking the time and effort to post this video. I hope you are all ok - Best Of Luck - our thought are with you all. :'( Heartbreaking - truly devastating.

great vids small fry and excellent music choice. As much as I feel for all those who are flooded I would like to point out if they look at all the old houses in mackay they are built on stilts!! It is the tropics. Why have we gone backwards? Are we stupid or are the developers greedy and the consumer naive?

I argee the najority of mackay people probably would not respect others property and try to make waves. I saw no white wash from both vids, Bloody good job showing the facts for future. Felt like l was in the back seat. Just wish you would have passed the popcorn from the front over. Do feel for the familys. Unfortunatly this is only a prelude. Honestly we drove very slowly and the water had already dropped by the time we came through, others were driving far faster and casuing much larger waves. I really do feel for you if you have damage by these floods, but we certainly didnt act stupid or go speeding through water wrecking peoples houses.

you missed their sarcasim silly one. They were slow and considerate and the small effect they would have had was nothing. The footage was great and it records history so people won't build low set houses in tge tropics!! Build for the tropics!! Stilts!

bring on the rain. We winge when we are in drought, then winge when it rains, lets celebrate the rain, I would rather life giving rain than being consumed by material wealth or drought. If your house was built like all the original houses in the tropics it wouldn't be a problem!! Blame the council, they approved the building designs on a flood plane!!!

Actually, I don't live anywhere near Mackay. And as a mattoer of fact, I live in a house that was built on stilts, 15 steps up, and out of known flood records (dating back 107 years. But 2 years ago, I had water 50cm deep in my house, not under, IN! So dont blame all of these these people or the council. And yes I do agree, rain is good - VERY GOOD, just not so much in so little time.

devestating that really is.. i feel for those who were on nebo road it seems that camberra street and nebo road were the two places who really badly got hit... my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by this. i thank the lord my flat was not as bad as it could have been.
