Excellent, well done, I like this a lot, always wanted to play drums since I was a kid, infact I always play drums with my hands for the last 35 years now and really got on peoples nerves.
I ended up playing keyboards, I now have the Tyros 3.
I bought a video course for drums, hoping to learn something before I end up in hell.
Hey dude...awesome...really top notch playing!! I was just wondering...Why two hats? I see that Travis Orbin does it too...Ive got an x-hat, but i was thinking about getting another hihat stand...Whats the benefits/drawbacks from another hihat stand?
@fuzzButtle Hey thanks man. Im on and off with 2 hats. I got a second stand because I started taking lessons from Travis and I saw that it opened up a lot of different opportunity to learn new things. I started playing open handed when I first started playing and 2 hats definitely helps with open handed playing. Like I said Im on and off with it, because Im still trying to get comfortable with my set.
@bombsawaydrums What do you mean by open handed?? Ambedextrous?? Im trying to do it...and it is SO HARD!! By far the hardest thing ive tried to do on drums...But im so in awh when i see travis play...amazing...and im also trying to get as well rounded as possible with all different styles of music, and its not easy...ive basically got eight years to do so..im pretty sure ill be in good shape.
@fuzzButtle By open handed I mean you arent crossing your arms while you play. Most drummers cross their arms to get to the hi hats, but having 2 hats helps to not do that, so that its easier to get around the kit.
@bombsawaydrums Most drummers play hi hats left handed when doing the open handed technique as a means of building strength, endurance, independance, and dexterity in their left hand... Not that i can do it, but I'm working on it. Nice videos BTW.
Pretty awesome video. I'm sorry for my slow response, but I finally got around to watching all your drum videos. Really solid drumming, and I'm looking forward to getting together soon.
You make it look so easy
