@fktr It's called the Brazilian kick because Brazilian fighters Feitosa and Filho popularized using it by their success with it. It has it's original Japanese name (I think it's maha mawashi geri); it's just called Brazilian out of respect for them. Osu!

Looks like easy to counter and difficult to perform. No one uses brasilian on the streets, it passes fronts to the groin. I find Glaube to be a dangerous opponent not because of his stupid kicks, but because he is a left-handed one. Good video anyway.

Well I guess all ...interesting... things come to an end. Globbay was the master of crushing cans but could never quite turn the corner on elite 'roid ragers' as someone else said. But with Mushasi retiring I guess it was him time also. The only person I worry about is Goodridge he should have been done years ago and you can see how his contemporaries have all called it quits. I wonder what his deal is perhaps living beyond his means. He will be one of the first MMA pioneers living on the street

Guys, I´m training for the german championship in kickboxing.

It is easier to use the brazilian kick against smaller fighters, because you get much more power on your kick.

Big fighters will normally defend themselves with their hands agianst a brazilian kick.

I know thta it also works sometimes against the big ones, but not often.

So don´t piss me off!

This kick wasn´t invented by a brazilian. brazilians perform this kick very often... (feitosa, etc) that´s why it is called brazilian kick. In every martial art you can find this move. Kung Fu, Karate do, tae kwon do....

@ToxicCox His kick is certainly epic it's just..... while it's quick and tricky it doesn't have the power of a full follow through Muay Thai roundhouse. For instance like Peter Aerts... clearly a much more powerful and devastating kicker... I feel the Brazil kick is not an every time kick

It's not meant to have the full power; the point is that it starts low, the opponent moves to block his midsection, and then his foot swings up and over the guard into his face.

It works because it catches you off guard. Kicks you don't see coming hurt more than ones you do.
