  • never be a side as good as that aussie side ever again

  • glenny fucking mcgrath! aka, glenny fucking mc - wrath! a terror for the batsmen. for all you fags out there that say mcgrath sucks and wasn't good: go take a rib out and succk ur dick, cuz you don't deserve to see glenny bowl! LONG LIVE PIGEON!!

  • Where are the 7/15 and 3/13 in 03 and 07 WC??

  • @GVAwesome i tried to get an overall picture of his career. the 8/24 against pakistan is not there too.

  • about the pace...he did, at one point in his career bowl at 135km/h on an average...but I think that was mostly in the mid 1990s..since 2000 I have only seen him bowling around 129-130 km/h and going upto upper 130s..but wtf!!...hw was still so bloody good!!...I wonder how Tendulkar used to play him till 1999 when he was at the peak of his career..I saw him clubbering Glenn in the 1996 world cup but throughout the last decade, I think McGRATH has had a clear upper hand..such a genius!

  • towards the end oh his career he did slow down to 130, but from 1996 till about 2003 he was bowling 135 on average and could crank it up, before a shoulder or ankle injury hampered him. he didn't play tendulkar much throughout the last decade to be fair to the little master, but ive always thought pidge was the only bowler who could consistently trouble tendulkar. you're right, he is genius. but he kept it simple, and perhaps that was his greatest strength.

  • Het I think only half my comment got saved..about the action..have u tried bowling with that action..I have played zonal level cricket for 3 years. Sometimes I tried bowling with that kind of action- I was really good at imitating actions, rather I would use it sometimes just ti confuse the batsmen or vary my pace- but could never generate enough pace...the action is neither completely 'open chest' nor wholly 'side arm' and hence it is extremely difficult to generate pace out of it.

  • yes actually my action is very similar and it has served me well. you're right, it is difficult to generate a lot of pace. with other actions i can generate an extra 10-15 km/h (what my teammates who are batting have said), but i like the action because it doesn't put strain on the body. with a few tweaks, you should be able to generate a bit more pace, but right now i'm able to hit a good spot and i always seem to generate movement, whether it be of the pitch or through the air.

  • ..but after the tennis elbow and back injury he could never completely outmanouvre Glenn...How can someone, with such a weak action and such pace, be so bloody well?..he was indeed 'accuracy' personified

  • @SecularD i wouldnt say he had a weak action. it was a simple one, yes, but it was efficient. he could bowl about 130-137 km/h at the end, and he could crank it up to 145 when he started, which is by no means slow. he got so many wickets, as you said, because of his accuracy. his ability to build pressure by bowling a great length and line was brilliant. thats what got him a majority of his wickets.

  • you needed glenn mcgrath yesterday! 517-1 COME ON ENGLAND!

  • we could have done with him and shane warne

  • cool to watch i remember when he was a country boy trying out for nsw after 3 games i told everyone dont worry aussie cricket is back we have a champion fast bowler on the march who will be as good as lillee not that i had seen much of lillee as im not that old and warne came along not much after and with the back up fast bowlers we had made us the best. Still pissed off with media and public who in my opion caused warne to retire at least 5 years early good luck aussies in ashes go boys.

  • @gongme yer thanks mate. i think warne picked his time perfectly to leave. of course, if u lose mcgrath, warne langer and martyn followed by gilchrist and hayden in a short time, the team was always going to struggle. lillee was probably more entertaining, but mcgrath had a special magic to him. i definetely could watch him all day with out getting bored. who wouldnt love to have pidge in their team?

  • @RoheeeeCricket

glenn is easily top five bowlers of all fucking time. also, glenny takes number two on my spot after malcolm marshall (even though personally i like glenn the best hahaha). dude, i love ur video, thank you so much rohee cricket!!!! :)
