When I taught at a Latino school in south-central L.A., we tried to have an American flag in the classroom. The students and parents demanded that it be removed and a Mexican flag put up in its place. Believe it or not, the school kow-towed to their wishes.

When I taught at a Latino school in south-central L.A., we tried to have an American flag in the classroom. The students and parents demanded that it be removed and a Mexican flag put up in its place. Believe it or not, the school kow-towed to their wishes.

Multiculturalism itself doesn't bring any great concrete benefits unless you just value diversity in and of itself. It brings many weaknesses and hurtles (like further "education") to just make society run as smoothly if you didn't have it. Though no society has been successful in doing this. The West was perfectly fine being almost all white economically, militarily, culturally, and socially.
