I think everyone's got the reactions wrong. I don't think the celebs were laughing AT hammer at all. It's like Britain or America's got talent. When a great talent comes on that was not expected the judges laugh. But in reality they're just shocked.

It's a rare occasion for most of them for someone like MCHammer to perform infront of them,even though they're celebs, because Hammer represented the internationalizaton of what is today known as HIP HOP. Before Hammer, Hip Hop was successful only in the states, but he changed all that.

i love me some hammer but i think instead of doing the song every1 heard a billion times he should of done the whole song of Look 3x that album kicked ass and came out around the same time that would of been the best way to promo that album the album sold 300,000 copie with out any ads think of how much he would of sold if he actually promoed his album on that stage with millions of ppl watching

@bosstatus8 Actually the celebrities were filling it, but it's more like a standing ovation,like when Michael Jackson (R.I.P) performed it's hard to do anything else but stand in awe. It's a rare occasion for most of them for someone like MCHammer to perform infront of them,even though they're celebs, because Hammer represented the internationalizaton of what is today known as HIP HOP. Before Hammer, Hip Hop was successful only in the states, but he changed all that.

@Ilzaza2 You're right! they are indeed amazed and not really laughing at him, because MC Hammer paved the pay for rap/hip hop music internationally. Back in the days hip hop was considered to be purely american and penetrated the american market mainly, but then guys like Hammer brought the international appeal. Hammer is an icon for most of them, just like Michael (R.I.P) was. Not so often you'll find your icon performing infront of you.
