  • It's a World War Two era cartoon; unlike the Bush wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the government was trying to PAY for the war as it took place, instead of borrow & spend & let the next president handle the crushing debts as the Republicans do these days.

  • @solitaredeuce Obama spent more in 1 year than Bush did in 4...

  • @solitaredeuce actually it was more along the lines of they were recieving enough from the British Empire on lend lease to fund there own war effort without debt.

  • Where does said duck come into place O.O

  • they stopped showing donald duck itself halfway through this

  • I grew up watching this one and loved it except for the end with all the "making guns and tank and bombs and more guns and bombers" etc... I'd go around telling my parents to save for taxes and smash the axis, which I'm sure was hilarious.

  • sales and buying things is what keeps the economy alive.

  • this is creepy xD

  • wierd fucking cartoon and way was the good donald a scoot? wierd

  • What a fucked up cartoon done with character meant for children!.... That's right kids! let's collect all your daddies and mommies money in taxes to beat the axes... this is the real world even for your beloved Donald Duck...

  • @xRedEyesJounouchix You are obviously quite young, or if not quite stupid. Are you not aware of mthe Aryan philosophy of nazi germany the pure race......... far superior to all others. The nipponese attitude to any person not japanese was beneath their contempt. view it from a 39/45 attitude when THEY attacked us you clown

  • @xRedEyesJounouchix Eat a fucking anti-depressant.REALITY is a bitch and cant be changed

  • As a Scot, I'm happy to see that the sensible (if a bight tightfisted) guy is a Scot.

  • Why was this banned? It's simply a message to pay taxes... which really shouldn't have to be explained; if you live here, you pay your taxes.

  • I can see why this was banned...

  • Pour tous ceux qui sont là a cause de Louvre-Lens ...

  • Man, why does everyone think this cartoon is "banned?" Jeez, people. Disney officially released it on DVD a few years ago. I don't know how these YouTube rumors get started.

  • This just inspired the shit out of me.

  • During WWII cartoons weren't just for kids, this was likely shown in a theater right before a real movie was about to play.

  • i feel like this demoralizes the human value. I really dont think that all the nazis had chosen to fight for hitler. when its war it comes down to you and everyone else, politics and stuff doesnt matter. idk i just feel like this show is generalizing too much and makes violence seem like the best solution to things. or blowing stuff up haha

  • i have this in extremley good quality on a official dvd

  • could somone tell me what that tune is at the begining when the drum come on 0:10 - 0:13

  • Die Amissind schon damals da gewesen, wo wir heute noch nichma sind.. aber das wird sich ändern.. leider.. was für ne propaganda.. mit donald duck..

    mein lieber scholli..

  • taxes...to nuke hiroshima.... :-(

  • @doktorsteiner Yheap, U mad?

  • But it happened first in August 1945. :/

  • this was a con used to steal from the sheeple since it was not anything the fraud to pay what keep the industrial complex running sorry that was phony using the flag as and country for democracy that is bullshit democracy is two coyotes and a chicken discussing how to cook the chicken of course the chicken dont have a say so we live in a republic that has usurped by tyrants and banksters the fed is not a govt entity but a private entity exclusively owned the vatican they started all world wars

  • @micknm the vatican is a greedy bunch of pigs still at the trough and wants too be top dog read revelation it is the whore of babylon and has secret societies and worships not YHWH BUT LUCIFER THE SON OF SATAN AKA SAMAEL

  • It was banned because you couldn't figure out what the f$&k donald was saying. Kids living in dust bowl were retards and now they had speech impairment. On the front lines they were sticking out like a sore thumb. 68 years later nothing changed.

  • Why is this banned?? I don't understand why...

  • Comment removed

  • I still fail to see why it's banned. It's a rather cheesy propagandist cartoon (though not very bad as such; I grew up in Soviet Union, so I saw by far worse), and chances are that whoever made it had very little knowledge on how the economy works, but that's hardly a reason to ban. It's just a stupid toon. If they banned everything that was stupid, the TV scedule would mostly consist of white noise (plus occasional discovery films, maybe).

  • YAY!! I WANNA PAY MY TAXES!!

  • hmm... ive seen a lot of propoganda from this time period, but this takes the cake

  • @djskullwars What's so bad about this cartoon? You have to place it in the context of the day. People back then would have got the message allright. There was a war going on remeber? And it had to be won.

  • I thought it was playing god save the queen at the end , but then I realized it wasn't British/Canadian... It was American

  • websurfer is right forget the past and your condemned to do it again. In fact it was actually in Sun Zhus art of war book.

  • I hate to say this but man the americans where stupid to get involved in the war... sure the germans where powermad but if the humans of the world was to take away persons like hitler and Gaddafi there would be no wars...

  • I hate to say this but man the americans where stupid to get involved in the war... sure the germans where powermad but if the humans of the world was to take away persons like hitler and Gaddafi there would be no wars...

  • Propaganda

  • Ive seen this in museums though.

  • What the hell did a 10 year old need to now about income tax?

  • @croutonthegreat its better they only learn about hanna montana now

  • @croutonthegreat Because they used to show these in theaters for adults too. That and if you get the kids, they'll be bugging the ever loving crap out of their parents to save money for the war.

  • @SerenityM16 Haha, maybe.

  • This was for adults in the age time!!! Not for children!!

  • @croutonthegreat

Cartoons back in those days were usually shown along with commercials before movies in the cinemas, as such they were not meant for children, but fro adults.

  • Propaganda using cartoon?

  • Yea, what kind of monster spends money on food and clothes when there's a war to be won!

  • krauts

  • Ehh, how is this banned??

  • @MindSeeR666 ...it's supporting paying taxes for war?

    And I guess to a certain extent it's pro-war.

  • @Konform2zoidberg I guess that makes sense..

  • GOD DAMN uSA CARTOONS ....

  • im not at all convinced the world is a better place with america trying to take the world over...... just about every country has some of our troops there so anyone that thinks were not controlling the world is blind as a bat....I cant wait till were attacked for being so aggressive to other countries and especially ones that have something to offer...... and the aggression is internal now as well,,, our u.s. gestapo is constantly extorting money from us citizens... tbc

  • @lynnsbomb the same way Hitler supposedly stripped his people of their rights... only difference is the rest of the world doesnt know its happening because our medical profession has the support of the gestapo to drug everyone up and now our children are drooling on themselfs and could care less what the government is doin

  • we need the u.n. to help us stop the atrocities that happen here... peaceful protesters are being arrested and roughed up..... people celebrating sports wins are being murdered by police..... its getting crazy... the gestapo is out of control

  • today they steal it from us before we see it

  • @lynnsbomb and they use it to keep people from bettering themselfs... by giving handouts so people wont go to work and make a better life for themselfs... keeping the minorities in poverty and out of fancy cities where the politicians and other government gang members live

  • Why was this banned?

  • What about Mussolini, WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF MUSSOLINI!

P.S. What the hell was Disney thinking when he made this. I mean this was supposed to be for children! Children who probably don't even know what taxes are!

  • @ZlatkoTheGod Not in those days; Disney wasn't always a kiddie company; his cartoons were meant for all audiences. And they were made back when people weren't so uptight about political correctness and sexual discretion. Now you can't sneeze without 15 different political groups shoving political correctness down your throat, forbidding others from saying "God bless you", not allowing you to use certain kinds of tissues because of the ingredients or where they were made, etc!

  • @ztslovebird You know, a wise puppet once said "Killing people is easy, being politically correct is a pain in the ass!" I miss the old days when cartoons were still kickass. Well at least there are some people in the disney company who can make good cartoons like Phineas and Ferb.Oh and P. S. Thank god for Lauren Faust! But still old school cartoons are old school cartoons.

  • @ZlatkoTheGod Eh, Disney now is a little too hypocritical. I realize overcensorship is a growing problem in the entertainment industry, but Ca-Ca Poo-poo? Save that trash for Nick's new lame-o cartoons. And that Australian actor/model character in So Random isn't funny in the least; he's offensive to Aussies, performers, and humans altogether! It IS possible to get some good laughs without being completely disgusting or totally steryotypical; it's all about moderation and good taste.

  • @ztslovebird EY-MEN to that!

  • @ZlatkoTheGod They cut Donald Duck praying out of Mickey's Trailer, because you know SOMEONE would make a big stink about how it promotes Christianity when it actually emphasizes the fact that he thinks he's about to be splattered on the front of a speeding train, but they permit bad potty humor and a character who is so beyond racist and/or stereotypical (although I can't think of anything relating to Australia that justifies the bad jokes) the victimized country has real grounds to bomb us!

  • Ok I was not expecting that

  • Ive got a couple of good "Dates"

  • Very patriotic ;)

  • Dude, thts scary and the reason why its banned cuz of Nazis and exposure of bein X-rated!! I think :?

  • America! Fuck Yeah!

  • daamm when i pay taxes it most be for the axis to i guss lol just joking

  • XD! They were Invoking godwins law all the way back in the 40's, classic!

  • Uncle Sam whistles are the best whistles.

  • I think the duck that wants Donald to save his money is Scrooge McDuck

  • I Love how at 2:35 the door breaks into a "V" for Victory!

  • this wasnt banned

  • how high wer taxs?

  • @MrIdunnointernet Pretty damn high and the more one made, the higher the marginal rate. I'm sure a google search will reveal the actual Federal rates from 1942-1945.

  • idk why this cartoon was banned, its just a piece of American history / propoganda...

  • Did I just see "Japan" sink into the ocean ? '(o.O)

Who knew that back in the old days, America also contributed to the Propaganda of making the little children believe that CCCP was the incarnated "Devil".

  • I can see why some one might find the episode "commando duck" offensive. In commando duck they pushed themes of hatred. What is so bad about this?

  • why was this banned? heck if i had a choice between taxes or no taxes id go with the latter! especially if my taxes where going towards killing people!

  • Disney was doing it's part for the war effort. Wish they would do it today.

  • @xsailor85 Every one and their mother was pro war back then....can't say that about today. They'll play it safe and randomly say "we support our troops!"

  • @jfachris At least back then we could win a war. We must fight till the enemy surrenders 100%. Without victory, there will be no peace.

  • wow..i have this on DVD somewhere....can someone tell my why this was banned?

    I see no reason

  • These had to be aimed towards the adults watching this with there kids cause why would children want to watch something about taxes? Kinda boring...

  • Propaganda at its finest.

  • @Ashkunx how so? things were different back then, they needed money to fund the war.

  • @CaptainComposte That's right, but propaganda is propaganda.

  • funny when you think about how when they paid these taxes to the government the businesses that were involved in the war made a huge profit and gave nothing back to the people at all.

  • @GrandMasterKai Yeah..cause they didn't hire record numbers of people, and help start the boom of the post war era.....

  • Is that the first incarnation of Scrooge McDuck?

  • @MiHiVidz Yes, according to Wikipedia

  • now thats patritism

  • Stupid Walt Disney...

...I feel like filling his cryogenic chamber with clams...

And then when he wakes up in 100 years he'll be all like "Oooooh, frozen clams.", but he won't know they're 100 years old, and then he will end up eating bad clams as I cackle in my grave! MWAAHAAAHAHAHAHAAH!

  • propagenda

  • @AcesHighProd Pure and simple

  • Banned for saying Nazis are bad?

  • @OSDolphin No mate it was band as I reminds Americans that they are not required to do a tax return. Up till the time of the war most American did not pay income tax. There is till no law in the US that compels some one to pay income tax of the type mentioned in this cartoon.

  • @tina6581 not according to the IRS

  • @nwennet47 Ask them for the statute by act, paragraph and line. It doesn’t excised mate. Its like the law that said all Englishmen must drive on the left. There is no such law but we all drive on the left and except that we will be prosecuted if we don’t. :-)

  • @tina6581 Good Grief, learn how to spell English if you are English!

  • @hardybar1 Sorry mate but I am very badly Dyslexic. Not that stopped me getting a first. But it dose mean I find spotting my spelling mistakes rather hard and frankly for this kind of correspondence I don’t give a sh*t if its correct or not. Its not like its going to be seen by thoughts that have an opinion that I am interested in influencing. Or it is going to go down as my contribution to humanity. Is it? So it bugs you, get over it. :-)

  • @hardybar1 Mate I am seriously Dyslexic. So the way I look at it is fuckum. English is only spelt the way it is due to some retards that thought Latin, Greek and French where cool ways to spell the new English. If you want to be a language Nazi fine just don’t expect me to give a sh1t mate. How and I am British. I can go and touch the graves of my ancestors from over 700 years back and their are church docs to prove it. as for your comment it should end "~~~English. If you are English?" not "!"

  • @OSDolphin This cartoon short is not banned. I have this one on DVD on the Walt Disney Treasures On the Front Lines that came out in 2004. The DVD version is a lot better in quality and sound. Go to this link to watch the best quality version on YouTube that I have found

  • @doughnutser256 jtomally9681 has the best quality version on YouTube.

  • that's mad

  • This is actually Texas propaganda.

  • For some reason i'm mad on guns now!

  • i didnt understand what he said, what's the 2nd personality called?

  • 1:03

Probably the only reason this was banned.

  • taxes to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki. taxes to burn Vietnam with chemicals. taxes to kill thousands of civillians in Iraq. taxes to etc. etc.

  • Yeah we got to pay those taxes now, cowboy poetry festivals and union goons need your money...and oh yeah obama needs another 800 billion to create 54000 burger flipping jobs...so pay up sheep...

  • I still don't get it? What makes this cartoon so "banned"? If Americans followed the same philosophy these days, they wouldn't be in the mess they are now in.

  • 戦とはもったいないものさ。

    浪費と破壊と消耗、そこからは何も生まれはしない。

    忍術学園教科教師、土井半助

  • This makes Disney look cool! Not all that "if you wish upon a star" crap =_=

  • I found a clear (Non-VHS) version on youtube.

  • On the one hand, I like the idea of saving money. On the other hand, I don't like the idea of cartoons promoting the idea that you have to save in order to pay the government money. They could've used some better merits of saving than that.

  • lol, that pimp is so stereotipycal 20's

  • @MrMentllet Ah Yes, the Roaring 20s, when our economy was strong thanks to the least amount of government intervention, when we had the closest thing to a libertarian as a president, before Hoover screwed it all up...

  • @MrMentllet That is not a Pimp, nor a Pimp suit. It is a Zoot Suit, a common suit worn by Mexican and Spanish immigrants during this time. putting it on the evil duck was to connect the immigrants and the evil of Hitler

  • @MrMentllet No, he's not. It's set in the 40s, and he's dressed in 1940s garb.

  • here are some figures for you, a total total 78.4 million people died in world war 2 that was including the jews in the holocaust whilst killing 6 million people for no real reason was bad the fact is that it was only a small fraction of the overall dead therefore the best we can do is to just get over it, it took place over 60 years ago and we should be working for the future

  • @WebsurferSA although i understand what your saying its a bad thing to forgot the past because history will repeat itself if it goes unchecked

  • @WebsurferSA To make sure it never happens again!

  • @WebsurferSA "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

  • Why was this banned again?

  • Wrong, Germany and Russia signed a non aggression treaty in August of 1939. It set out guidelines to who would split up land if there were changes in political "spheres of influence". It was never being sided with each other, it was an attempt at avoiding conflict between the two powers.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA die... die...die.........die

  • The shorter version. . . . During WW II, The Soviet Union and US were allies! We all won, but their human cost was larger than ANY other country involved. They fought single handly for their territory ALONE until US & Brit arrivial on D-Day. They deserve some props there!

  • @jernstef Stalin fought for the same goals in 1943 as in 1939. He just did it with other allies. He still took half of europe. He tricked both the US and the britts several times, including when approaching Berlin. Had the american general not thought Berlin was of no concern the russians could very well have attacked the rest of the allies.

  • @jernstef

Correct. If you ever read a book about WW2,you'd know 80% of all German losses in the war were on the Eastern Front.Naturally the Western allies knew all to well that if the Soviet Union was knocked out of the war, Germany could solidify their defences of "fortress Europe", and therefore the lend-lease with medicines, equipment and even weapons became important.

Here's another little known fact. On D-day there were 60 odd German divisions in France, and over 230 division in the E.F.

  • @jernstef Well at first the Germans and Russia signed am agreement, saying that if the USSR gave Germans their support, the USSR would get a portion of the land earned by the war, and Hitler screwed them over basically....so thats when the USSR joined the Allied forces....and all that lead up to the cold war starting in 1946

  • @shinusha ussr never ggave them support, they were given half of poland for not joining the war (non-aggressive pact)

  • @jernstef the soviets were monsters, and sould not be respected!

  • @BombBakers It was one bully fighting another bully. The bigger bully one in the end.

  • @jernstef - Stalin killed 20 million of his own people, committed genocide by starvation in the Ukraine, sent millions to the gulag, and invaded Poland at the same time as Hitler. They don't need props for fighting off a Nazi invasion.

  • @jeffbriem First of all Stalin was Georgian, but he killed non-Georgian.(not his people)

Starvation was all over the country at that period of time. Especially along the Volga river. therefore Ukraine was not alone in her troubles.

Secondly where did you get your numbers? From the US propaganda?

20-22 million of people were killed during the WW2.

    it's much more than Holokost.

About invasions I would recommend you to look at Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan.

  • @jernstef US and Britan supplied the Soviet Union with supplies like tanks weapons ect

  • @saints4445 yeah and each country stabbed each other in the back by threatening to bomb each other right after!

  • the soviet union had there own tanks second only to the germans, same with guns, but they lacked food, cloth, and other basic materials like the metal to make their tanks and guns.

  • @jernstef The Soviet Union helped Hitler gain the strength he needed to destroy it. It was their fault to begin with. Then they destroyed the lives of millions for decades with their crap government. They don't deserve props, they deserve to pay for how they ruined the world time and time again.

  • @knoxjeff I'm afraid I don't understand how, exactly, the Soviet Union strengthened Hitler. The never suported him, and never would have supported a facist ruler who was so explicitly anti-communist. They did sign a non-agression pact, but that doesn't equate to strengthening Hitler, not by a long shot.

  • @Iamnemo1994 Stalin thought he could watch hitler an the other western countries destroy each other by themselves and then he could take easily control of eastern europe but he was wrong. the non agression pact gave hitler good chances to make war against england and france without having fear about having war at two frontlines at the west and east at same time. also Stalin knew that the Wehrmacht had the best technologies at this time and he wants to get a part of the spoils

  • @Karlsruher38 Perhaps you'll forgive my idiocy in all this, but even IF the Soviet Union had tried to actually help Hitler, Hitler would probably have refused the help. Keep in mind, Hitler sent communists to the concentration camps in droves. But I degress. If you would, please provide even a single example of a way that the Soviet Union helped Hitler gain power. While I hardly support the Soviet regime, to claim that they helped the Nazis is a vast oversimplification of history, and is false.

  • @Iamnemo1994 the soviets didnt helped hitler, but stalin (also a mass murder but not megalomanic like hitler) logically thought that hitler would not attack the soviets as long as germany needs his war power against england and noticable in the future also against the usa at the western front, so he thought he could wait until germany, england and the usa were weaken themselves and in the end he could get great parts of eastern europe under soviet control without war, but he was false.

  • @Karlsruher38 Very true. But I don't entirely see how one can fault him for doing that- although he remained a mass murderer, megalomaniac, and all around bad guy, for once, he actually did try to help the Soviet Union. And the Soviet Union was absolutely essential to the victory over Germany, in the end.

  • In June 1941, Germany attacks USSR. In the first 2 months of war, the USSR loses 2.5 mil people! The USSR withdrawls, the Germans advance, in winter 1941, Russia pulls its Army out of Siberia, where the soldiers are acclimated to fighting in the bitter cold temperatures. The Germans advance through USSR and make it almost to Moscow. Moscow attacks both sides, bitter fight, They prevailed! USSR took on 70% of Ger before we got there! USSR lost 25 million people vs US 425 k. Then D-Day

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome

    Axis got pwnd

  • 94 people are bummed the Nazis lost.

  • Yeah, I can see what would be unacceptable in the current political climate: (1) Stating that taxes are a good thing; (2) Including "freedom from want" among the freedoms the USA must protect.

The pimp? Meh, it's a white pimp. (Confirmed by the fact he's actually Hitler.)

  • 1:00 too bad. I would love to see Donald with a date. *click click click* :-)

  • This video taught me that Scots are good and Italians are bad.

  • @MrOpozicioner dont call me friend if your guna call me stupid. i do know history and i dare say i know alot more then you considering you can't even write. quite being a troll what i said is correct.

  • @MrOpozicioner There was always a second front, The Germans,Italians, etc had been fighting the British in the West since 1939!

  • @martynrobin121 thaank you.

  • @MrOpozicioner "America and Allys" its right up there ^

  • YOUR EITHER WITH US, WITH THE TERRORISTS.

  • I understand what you all say.. about it being propoganda. But i would like to point somthing out.

WWII, the war started by Hitler, for the sole purpose of murdering Millions of ppl, and decimate all life and belifes that didn't match theres, was the singal most justifyable war that was fought, with Hitler and the axis powers trying to push thier ides and racial cleansing on the whole rest of the world, while America and Allys worked to save the ppl and there freedoms.

  • @uglyHawkling saving lives ? america? you must be kidding... they haven´t saved lives the allies killed more people during the war than Nazi-Germany

  • @MeisterZeoras check your numbers. youll find thats a blaintent lie.

  • @MeisterZeoras Check Your facts The allied had about 65% of all military casualties. The axis powers only had about 6.5% of all civilian deaths. In large part because of the large civilian casualties in Russia, Poland, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, and Latvia. The Axis powers had under 20% of all casualties in the war (civilian and military). You are just one of those anti American people who are anti American no mater what the issue is right?

  • @goforth85 ok yes i am against the american government. And i am sorry just had other numbers in my head.

but at least they weren´t better at the end. they haven´t tried to save lives. they just bombarded everything and killed 3.5 mio mostly innocent people. (in germany)
