Greetings from Montreal, Canada....heard u all got some snow...lol..we got a lot last night also..though not as much as u all... great video..!! my best to you..
@daveswagon hahaahha well played. Yeah no shit, this is a major metropolis, not a backwater town of 15,000. Detroit has now fallen into the latter category btw
@skeemo13- This wasn't even just Chicago ,it went all the way through the Chicagoland area. People in my neighborhood couldn't even get out of driveways until they plowed our streets, which they didn't do until the next day at around 12 p.m. They made a perfectly rational decision to allow people to get home quickly, and they did the best they could. Don't talk about podunk Michigan.
@arsenicqueen69 haha, "podunk Michigan?" Metropolitan Detroit has over 6 million residents. I wouldn't exactly call the "podunk." But then again you are a fellow Chicagoan, you think you're better than everyone else. Exactly why I moved.
500 views before I saw it. I got stuck at the Meijer's in Rolling Meadows, IL, about 8pm, along with a dozen other people. Bus had been running 45 minutes late, and the other seemed to be running not at all. Somebody later pulled off the road, and an ambulance was called to deal with hypothermia, I assume. Power went off after midnight, generators hadn't gone back on in an hour, they covered the open coolers with plastic tarps. Wednesday morning, danged near every place was closed.
First question: Where did all the occupants of the vehicles go? How did they get out?
Second question: I notice many of the abandoned cars had their windshield wipers pulled outwards. Was this a sign that emergency workers had checked to see if anyone was still inside?
@sky6533 True, but every car out there had their wipers up. Local media is reporting that it was a sign that they had been searched by emergency workers.
Thanks for filming this

Perfectly captures the apocalyptic atmosphere! Cool!
The sunset, the public announcement sound, empty streets, abandoned bus & cars! Book of Eli, winter edition.

@skeemo13 Hey Moron...comparing Chicago's response to some tiny burg in Michigan is utterly idiotic.

@hebneh wipers are pulled outward so they don't freeze to the windshield.

Great video. It really captivated the enormity of this storm. I live in the west burbs, and it is bad but not like that.
