It's difficult to explain. It's a casual game, you never actually win. You start from a single celled organism and move to a creature to a tribe to a civilization. Eventually you're building space ships to visit other planets. You get points for completing tasks. Use these points to build up your creature, buildings, ships whatever. The game is populated with many planets each with creatures/civilizations that other people have made although they're AI controlled. Just watch some spore videos.
