Thank you so much for posting this video! This version is sooo sick, definitely a change from the version on the Terence Blanchard album (which is amazing as well) Chris Dave is one of a kind!
damn i just had to post again because bilal amazes me the more i listen to his work. i now realize that it is a guarantee that he is going to bring life to at least one song that is so rich of emotional and musical poignancy on EVERY album. you know what i mean... one of those songs that are endless artifacts of our love for music and life. first came "Sometimes", then "Sorrow, Tears and Blood" and now, this? i have so much respect for him, i don't even know what i would do if i went to a show.
I so agree with these statements. I saw him perform live when he came to baltimore and the show was pure electric. i cant even describe the enegry he put out. unfortunately it was an outdoor concert and it got rained out midway thru his performance. talk about disappointed. cant wait til the new album drops next year.
I saw him in LA some months ago and I didn't know what to do with myself! I'm a grown man, but he goes right through your defenses and makes a groupie outta you. lol. We all know how his singing and song writing is brilliant. But do yourself a HUGE FAVOR and catch him live at any cost, because his improv is UNREAL. He's a man who is indeed his music. You just simply sense that his music is literally a sonic form of his heart and soul. I paid $45 and gladly would've paid $100 if I had to.
I was there and I felt at home! Its sad how the best music is "underground" When that filth disguised as music is forced down our throat everyday. Bilal is a unique and utterly talented performer!! I cant wait for that Air Tight's Revenge to drop.
Levels ... this song is epic.
