Hey guys, I chase these magnificent critters every now & then. One of my techniques is to drill a few holes in 35mm film canisters, then fill em with pilchard. The best bait I've used by far. Cheers.
where did you get a ring net like that? ive been looking around for one and cant find one with mesh that small but i was thinkin about just making one
Man would I like to shove one of those Crayfish down the pants of my Math teacher. He'd instantly become a "she" due to having a distinguishing organ being eaten.
Its a good time to go out for them, the season is warming up, Euastacus Kershawi are more active during warmer months. Liver is a top bait but soft. Euastacus Kershawi are aggressive by nature, use hardy baits like chicken or red meat. I like the last four hours of the day. I would not place the hoop nets to far out, they don't retrieve well in these condition. On the outer edge of most river bends are some nice deep slower running pools, snag areas are also productive. Happy Crayfishing
@anthacdc I found that Euastacus kershawi are more productive during the warmer months while Euastacus armatus are more active during winter. By law Euastacus armatus are only caught during the winter period, Closed season is from 1 September to 30 April.
