Really interesting. Guitar is basically an imperfect instrument when it comes to tuning. I'd love to try one of these things. The fret material is usually brass which sure beats the hell out of the typical soft nickel metals for frets.
I like how all these clowns @ 'music' trade shows talk their azzes off & never play N E thing 2 demonstrate it. Oh sure - tell us all about how much it improves things. Don't actually SHOW us so we can HEAR a difference - just pretend words = success HAHAHA =))
I'd hate to imagine doing a fret job on a guitar with this frets. Especially a refret. I'll stick to regular frets and live with my chords being a little out of tune
@TheBoose5150 i know its not perfect buy it provides better than standard intonation and allows for multiple tuning to be averagely accurate, plus true temperment frets dont address string tension. i suppose it depends on the player. I would choose multiscale as a metal player because i use Drop D C sharp standard and B standard. Where as a bules/Jazz player who stuck to more conventional use of Standard E and DADGAD could use True Temperments. Its application not preference in my opinion.
@schecterman123 yea good point man, i would probably use both depending on the kind of music im playing, i play metal to but i also like to play other styles
@schecterman123 Actually, nope :) Its better than normal, but still based of mathematics based of perfect strings. Real strings are not perfect, and true temperament takes this into account and is made by ear, not mathematics. AND it can use different temperaments ^^ So it sounds better :P
If your intonation is on you will get true temperament. I've been setting up guitars for years. Never had any problem. But if the bridge is in the wrong spot them your f-ed.
@BIGBABYZIP so you've never tried tuning a guitar using a specific chord and go to play an other chord and find it slightly out of tune? the guitar with straight frets cant be perfectly in tune due to the fact that perfect notes arent regular intervals apart... each note is slightly further from or closer to its neighbour notes than other notes and their neighbour notes... if you dont understand this or cant hear the difference, you shouldnt be setting up guitars... sorry

@Deathrape2001 Um. Hey dumbfuck, here's an idea: Watch Steve Vai talk about these frets.

I asked my luthier once if he can mount those frets on my guitar had I bought them and he admitted that he can't saying that it's too hard for him :/

What if a person wants a fretted guitar?
Fretless and fretted aren't quite the same...

this fretting system is cool but not friendly for different string guages.

@shango02005 I've installed EarVana Nut on my ESP NT2 Horizon, with success. It's not perfect but way more better than an ordinary nut.

@C0ldFart Thanks, man! I'll look into that. :)
shango02005 9 months ago
@C0ldFart Well, this is lightyears better (not meaning a Earvana nut is bad, but this think solves the problem for real).
