But I'm in a band now and our other guitarist showed me a different way to play it in Drop C tuning that sounds closer (we're performing it at some upcoming gigs!)

Yes, I know what a capo is and does...I've played guitar for close to 12 years, no lie. Yes, songs can be played the way you described but I dunno, still sounds off the way you played it. Pretty sure the tuning is supposed to be drop D and 1/2 a step down, not hard to get to and then back to E. You also missed a key part of the chorus, listen to it you'll see what I mean.

Maybe it's not the same tuning he uses, but newsflash, most songs can be played with different tunings (Standard E, dropped D, etc) and w/ different chords and sound correct, b/c the same notes are all over the fretboard.

And do you even know what the hell a capo does? It raises the pitch, and that guitar has locking tuners and I didn't wanna spend 1 1/2 hrs getting it reset back just to play this, so I used a capo to bring the pitch up half a step.

yea, you can play any song in any key, but not at the same time that the record is playing in a different key.

It's the best version I found for it. The capo is set on the first fret in this video b/c my guitar was tuned half a step down. I don't know what brand it is though, I'm sorry.

Hey, to be honest, i like this song, and you have a GREAT voice :) its different to the lead singer of sick puppies, but its still good :) just a note of advice, play the song LOADS of times before you record it...you'll sound ace then :) I love the way you've taken this song and changed the singing slightly to make it different to the original :) You rock :) x
